The CW is moving forward with Riverdale spinoff The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and unlike the 90s series on ABC, this version is expected to be quite a bit darker (similar to the character's recent comic book adventures). Well, just days after David Rapport Casting - which has worked on everything from Arrow to Supergirl - announced that they're working on the show, audition tapes have surfaced.
You can view those by clicking on the link above but among the prospective candidates for the role are Charlie Torr (Rake), Ariel Kaplan (Neighbours), Bekka Walker (The Mindy Project), and newcomer Adelina Hudson. There's nothing to say one of them will land the role but we now have an idea of what sort of actress the network may be looking for. Some interesting new details have also been revealed:
"I… wanted you to see where I was born, Harvey. Not in Greendale General, like it says on my birth certificate. Here. In this grove of trees. Almost sixteen years ago. … And, uhm, where I’ll be reborn this Saturday night. On my birthday. At the stroke of midnight. In the middle of a — a penumbral lunar eclipse. The kind that only happens once every sixty-six years. … That’s why I can’t go to Rosalind’s Halloween party this weekend."
That's from a scene between Sabrina and Harvey prior to both her birthday and Halloween. Comic book writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is writing the pilot and he also pens the current comic series.
