Reviews for
Stranger Things Season 3 have started to hit the web and it looks like another solid entry to Netflix's sci-fi series.
With 25 reviews counted,
Stranger Things Season 3 currently sits at a 92 percent on
Rotten Tomateos and has officially been certified fresh. The critical consensus reads:
"Vibrant and charming, Stranger Things transforms itself into a riveting -- if familiar -- summer ride that basks in its neon-laden nostalgia without losing sight of the rich relationships that make the series so endearing."
Interestingly, the 92 percent is actually the lowest score for all three seasons of the show. Season 1
had a 96 percent with 84 critic ratings, while
Season 2 finished with a 94 percent with 144 critic ratings. Comparitively, 25 ratings is a low sample size; but, either way the current 92 percent is a good sign for Netflix and for fans of the series.
There's been a lot of talk about how Season 3 is the darkest in the series and the reviews do seem to reflect that, while also highlighting an "extravagant, exceedingly ambitious adventure spectacle" (
ScreenRant) that "delivers an oft-charming, deeper-than-expected, and ultimately enjoyable new chapter" (
indieWire).
Stranger Things Season 3 arrives on Netflix this week on July 4.
