Netflix finally announced this week that The Russo Brothers' highly-anticipated action-thriller The Gray Man will start streaming worldwide on July 22.

Its streaming launch will be preceded by a limited theatrical release on July 15.

The $200 million production boasts an all-star cast headlined by 2x Academy Award-nominee Ryan Gosling (Drive; The Nice Guys) as the titular former CIA operative-turned-freelance assassin.

Speaking on his casting, the Russos explain to Tudum, “The Gray Man is an incredibly mysterious character with a highly secretive past. In essence, he’s a ghost. A minimalist, [whose] job is to hide in plain sight. Kill when he needs to kill, and disappear. Ryan is exceptional at communicating volumes through a look or a gesture. Creating an interior life that translates in the most subtle and sublime ways. He also has fantastic control of his physicality. In essence, he is The Gray Man (minus the kill orders).

Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger; Avengers: Endgame) and Golden Globe-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives OutNo Time to Die) feature in the two other leading roles, with a supporting cast that includes Marvel alum Jessica Henwick (The Matrix 4Iron Fist), Wagner Moura (NarcosSergio), Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in HollywoodAmerican Housewife), South Indian superstar Dhanush (RaanjhanaaVada Chennai), Regé-Jean Page (BridgertonDungeons & Dragons), Academy Award-nominee Alfre Woodard (Luke CageCaptain America: Civil War), and Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton (Monster's BallFargo).

The book was good enough, but I can see how it's going to be a super action packed movie, definitely one of the movies I'm looking forward to the most.
Excited to see what the Russos do with this
Great casting as well, really hoping we get a trailer soon.

Obligatory Ana De Armas pic

Going by the looks of the mustache I'd take a guess at saying Evans is the main antagonist..? Look forward to seeing him in a different kind of role.

From the book he's definitely the main bad, channelling a bit of Evans character from Knives Out, but a bit douchier

I really hope this is one of the better Netflix and AGBO movies. All the right stuff is there, but so far neither have blown me away in the past in the same situation.

Now we just need to cast Ryan gosling as a superhero so the obligatory jokes about this being "captain america vs other superhero" can begin.

@Waddles - for some reason I was thinking Sentry, even if it was just to see Gosling with long hair.

For Quasar I kinda wanna see Alan Ritchson, even though that might not fit entirely

@Waddles - id go for green lantern. Maybe Kyle Rayner, mostly because I think an artist just fits the powerset better than a pilot.

@Waddles - I can see that work far better than what I suggested

@Waddles - I’ve seen comments like yours before, why does it seem like no one wants a live-action Sentry?
