THE WITCHER: Henry Cavill Gears Up For An Epic Adventure In New Photos From The Upcoming First Season

With The Witcher set to debut at the end of this week, Netflix has released a ton of hi-resolution promotional stills from the freshman season, mainly from the first five episodes. Mostr of the images showcase the trio of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), gearing up for an epic adventure.

Reviews are reportedly embargoed until the day of release, which would generally not bode well. But considering Netflix has already renewed the highly ambitious fantasy series for a second season, the late embargo may simply be due to the streamer wanting to avoid any and all spoilers ahead of December 20th.

This will be fun to watch over the holidays. I'm pretty excited. Netflix seems to be banking heavily on this being their Game of Thrones so fingers crossed the quality is on the level and they pull it off because frankly I think they need a win. They have some good shows but they're starting to get a reputation for putting their name on shit no other studio wants. Give us something HBO-level good.

Never read the books or played the games - but for some reason, I get a gut feeling this will disappoint. I can't explain it.

Looks good. It's a departure from the game but I think they've really captured its Eastern European vibe. And Cavill as Geralt is really growing on me.

@jj2112 - Its based on the books more the games apparently. Though it is definitely taking some visual cues from the games
