THE WITCHER Season 2 Still Features Henry Cavill's Geralt Of Rivia Heading Into Action With His Trusty Blade

The pandemic slowed production on The Witcher season 2, but the series is finally set to return to Netflix this December. Now, we have a new look at the show along with comments from Henry Cavill...

When The Witcher finally returns to Netflix on December 17, Geralt of Rivia will be taking on a very different sort of role. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Henry Cavill explained that we'll see the formidable warrior embrace his "paternal side" when he's forced to train his Child of Surprise, Cirilla (played by Freya Allan, she's better known to fans of the video games as Ciri).

"While he hasn't necessarily been someone who craved children, he does take quite naturally to being a protector," the actor teases. "What I'm trying to do is bring [out] more of that intellectual, philosophical, wise Geralt."

With these comments comes a new still showing Geralt in action. Not a lot has been revealed about this second season of The Witcher, though fans are excited to see where the story goes next, especially after a first season that jumped around the timeline and proved to be hard to follow at times.

"Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen," reads a synopsis. "While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Ciri), and Joey Batey (Jaskier) are all set to return for the second season, alongside series newcomers Yasen Atour as the Witcher Coen, Agnes Bjorn as the bruxa Vereena, Paul Bullion as the Witcher Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as the Witcher Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, and Mecia Simson as Francesca.

Off topic but it's no fun doing karaoke at the bar when there someone there who can actually sing. You make me look bad by comparison and I wasn't drunk enough to forget the embarrassment ....that said the crowd enjoyed my rendition of avenues and Alleyways lol

@MrCamw1 - I've never done this before, sounds like a lot of fun tho.

It surely wasn't that bad, if the crowd cheered for you :D

@UXASIS - I say at least try it once (of course only if you feel safe going to a bar in these times of course). Even if you suck the crowd will love it cause you gave it your all......I did Sweet Caroline two weeks ago lol

@MrCamw1 - I don't like being at the center of attention, but I'll definitely try it once I'm drunk enough.

@MrCamw1 - I killed it on karaoke back on Halloween night in 2016 and I can't sing lol. I sang How's It Gonna Be by 3rd Eye Blind dressed as Bill Rizer from Contra and the bar was crowded with people in costumes. The best Halloween I've ever had honestly.

I think I should re-watch S1, some details were a little foggy.

The promo pic of Geralt is badass. The snow themed set never fails in highlighting more a scene, whether it is action or not.
