THOR Star Chris Hemsworth Is Tyler Rake On The First Poster For Netflix's EXTRACTION

Netflix has released the first poster and some stills for upcoming action flick Extraction, which stars Avengers: Endgame's Chris Hemsworth as a mercenary named Tyler Rake. Yes, that's actually his name.

Before Chris Hemsworth returns as the God of Thunder in Taika Waititi's Thor threequel, he'll take on the far less heroic lead role in Netflix's Extraction.

Previously known as Dhaka, the story focuses on a black market mercenary named Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) who is hired to rescue the son of a very powerful crime lord. Rake locates the boy in Bangladesh, and attempts to get him safely back to his family. Do you think he'll find a measure of redemption along the way? We'd say it's a safe bet.

The plot sounds generic as can be, but it might be fun to see Hemsworth play a more ruthless character for a change. A trailer will give us a much better idea of what to expect, but for now you can check out a poster and some promo stills below.

Extraction is the directorial debut of Sam Hargrave, a former second-unit director for Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who are on board as producers here. The movie also stars Black Widow and Stranger Things actor David Harbour, and is set to debut on Netflix on April 24.

Hope Hargrave does a nice job with the action on this. Maybe he can get the success of Stahelski and Leitch one day.

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst ...

Poster is pretty lame but that’s standard for Netflix

@Battabing

I imagine the Russo bro’s had something to do with Chris taking on this project. Same thing with Chadwick in 21 Bridges which probably should’ve been a VOD title.

I think this is gonna be a blast. The Director is Sam Hargrave, he’s regarded as one of the best stuntmen in Hollywood. He’s been the stunt coordinator for most of the Marvel/Avengers films, including Winter Soldier.

Joe Russo is writing the script, I know they did some reshoots after 21 Bridges released, so maybe they’ve already evaded some underlying problems. Hargrave’s also worked with a lot of prestigious Directors in the industry, he commonly posts about having lunch with them. So he’s got an arsenal of directors to run ideas to. The only thing that’s not on his side is experience or a portfolio as such.

However I’m excited about this regardless, we’ve seen stuntmen make the jump to directing and make some exceptional well regarded films: John Wick, Crank etc.

Pros out way the cons for me.

I think that’s a pitiful poster but I enjoy Hemsworth I’m pretty much anything and if all else fail the action should be top notch!:)
