THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Featurette Takes A Deep Dive Into "The Return Of A Legend" Before The Show's Premiere

Disney+ and Lucasfilm have released a new featurette for The Book of Boba Fett that further explores the significance of this iconic bounty hunter making his return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away. The Mandalorian is where he showed up in live-action for the first time since Return of the Jedi, of course, but this series is going to pick up with the character on Tatooine after that huge post-credits scene.

In this preview - appropriately titled "Return of a Legend" - filmmakers Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez, and stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen, give an overview of the show and celebrate Boba Fett taking centre stage in a series that definitely has Star Wars fans buzzing.

It was recently confirmed that the red carpet event celebrating the premiere of the series has been cancelled as a result of concerns surrounding COVID-19. Now, the hope is it will instead take place to mark the finale, and it's unclear whether any of the cast and crew have done press in advance of The Book of Boba Fett's premiere in an effort to protect any spoilers leaking. We recently learned that trailers have only included footage from the first half of next week's debut episode.

The Book of Boba Fett finds the title bounty hunter and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate. The show arrives on Disney+ on December 29.

This strikes me even more as a love letter to the original trilogy than The Mandalorian. Only Rogue One and these shows really do that, which is something I still kinda don't like about the rest Disney is doing. Still don't get why Galaxy's Edge isn't just Tatooine

Looking forward to this. Can’t wait for the flash back scene showing what happened to him after falling in the pit.

One small gripe: I don't like the change in the color scheme of Boba's costume.

Why exactly is this character so "big" in the Star Wars fandom?

He had 2 minutes of screentime in the original and didn't do anything but fall into a pit.

“Legend”? He was killed by being pushed off a boat by a blind man.

@frottage - and then magically escaped which must have been a shock as his accent changed when he came back.
