The Book of Boba Fett was recently highlighted in the pages of Empire Magazine, but Disney+ and Lucasfilm have now shared the stills from the publication minus any annoying watermarks. As you can see, the spotlight is primarily put on Boba Fett and Fennec Shand's alliance; the two characters met during the events of The Mandalorian and appear to have formed an unlikely bond.
During a recent interview with D23 Magazine (via The Direct), Ming-Na Wen dropped a few hints about what fans can expect from this relationship. "Well, there's a partnership between the two of them [Fennec and Boba Fett], for sure. They're bonded by the fact that they both lived through a near-death experience. And there is a sense of code that they both abide by."
The actress would later add that "[it's] not that they're the bad guys. They're not that good either. We are the anti-hero. I like playing an anti-hero. You get away with more, I think."
Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Steph Green, and Kevin Tancharoen have all been confirmed to direct episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, but we don't know if any of the filmmakers will be pulling double duty or if there are still more to be announced in the weeks ahead.
The Book of Boba Fett finds the title bounty hunter and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate. The show arrives on Disney+ on December 29.
