Disney+'s upcoming Cassian Andor series has added Stellan Skarsgard (Thor, Dune) and Kyle Soller (Poldark, Brexit) to its cast in undisclosed roles. They join Diego Luna, who will reprise the title role from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Skarsgard will be best known to CBM fans for his Marvel Cinematic Universe role of Doctor Erik Selvig, but he has appeared in countless other film and TV projects, including the recent Chernobyl. He will also play the villainous Baron Harkonnen in the upcoming Dune reboot. Soller, meanwhile, is an up-and-coming British actor known for parts in 101 Dalmation Street, Poldark and HBO's Brexit.
No details on their characters were provided.
The still untitled series will follow the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire."
The Americans producer Stephen Schiff will serve as showrunner on the series, which was set to premiere at some point next year. Of course, that's all up in the air now, but we'll keep you updated on any further developments.
