STAR WARS: ANDOR TV Spot Teases The ROGUE ONE Rebel's Fight To Take Down The Empire

A new 30-second teaser for Andor has found its way online, and it offers a thrilling glimpse at what lies ahead for Cassian Andor when he decides to fight back against the evil Empire. There's lots of new footage to delve into, and we'd argue that it does a better job of selling the series than the somewhat reserved first trailer we got during Star Wars Celebration.

It was at that event Lucasfilm revealed that they've shot 12 episodes of Andor, with plans for a second season (also consisting of 12 episodes) made official.

The first 12 will take place 5 years before the events of Rogue One, with the second lot set during the subsequent 4. Each of those years will get three episodes devoted to them, and it's been reported that the finale will take us straight into Cassian's first scene in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

24 episodes for this prequel series is ambitious (especially when Obi-Wan Kenobi only got 6), but it sounds like the plan is to explore this era in a way that hasn't been done before. Between that and the chance to follow the title character's story, we can't help but be intrigued by where this is going.

Hopefully, more will be revealed soon as that premiere date is fast approaching

Andor will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The show premieres on Disney+ on August 31.

Why is the budget on this looking like a major blockbuster but Obi wan looks like a fan film in some parts?

@GeneralZod - Saw this yesterday

Makes the scene even more embarrassing.

My immediate thought after the chase was why not just cut all of that nonsense and just have them bag her quick. The chase served no purpose really.

@WakandaTech - you probably shouldn't if you feel that way now. means no matter what you see your going to find faults and poor decisions in it. you are already pre-conditioned to dislike this show. you will watch it hate it and come on here and be negative about it. i am stoked for this show and i liked obi wan so i am more inclined to sit down and just have fun. looking forward to all the imperial bad ass shit we get to see in it.

Budget looking nice for this one. Always liked how gritty Rogue One was compared to typical SW.

Never did I expect I'd be so hyped for an Andor show, but here we are.

Not only do I like the timeframe of this show, but (like Rogue One) it really gives of that original trilogy Star Wars-feel.
