After years of rumor and speculation, it looks like Ewan McGregor may have finally signed on to reprise the role of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.
According to
Cinelinx, the
Doctor Sleep actor has closed his deal with Lucasfilm and will officially return as the legendary Force-wielder in an unspecified
Star Wars project, which they believe to be a Disney+ series.
We're not familiar with this source so have no idea how reliable they are, but the story has since been backed-up by
MakingStarWars and shared by several other major outlets, so we reckon it's worth covering as a rumor on this slowest of news days.
If this is on the level, chances are we'll get some kind of official announcement at D23 next week. In the meantime, let us know what you think in the comments.
UPDATE: Deadline has now confirmed that McGregor has indeed signed on to return as Kenobi in an untitled Disney+ series.
