A sizzle reel for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was released (well, leaked) online earlier today ahead of tomorrow's Disney+ Day, and the video featured some very interesting pieces of concept art.
In addition to a first look at character designs for Kenobi and Darth Vader, one of the images clearly showed an Inquisitor alighting from an Imperial ship along with some Stormtroopers. There have been persistent rumors that the show will feature one of the force-wielding Jedi hunters, but the one depicted here looks a lot like the Second Sister, Trilla Suduri, from the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game.
The thing is, Obi-Wan takes place after Fallen Order in Star Wars canon, and - spoiler alert- Trilla doesn't make it to the end of the game. Death is far from permanent in the galaxy far, far away, of course, but the character's demise did seem pretty definitive.
There's a lot of speculation that Trilla could return for this show, but we reckon the more likely explanation is that this is simply a placeholder image from the early design phase of pre-production.
Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know that Obi-Wan will be set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. There are also rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.
McGregor and Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader) will be joined by Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm all episodes of the series, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on board as producer along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).
