For many Star Wars fans, The Mandalorian is the best story Lucasfilm has delivered since the original trilogy. The studio's Disney-owned era has definitely been divisive, with the big screen sequels leading to backlash on a number of fronts. Rogue One was well-received, of course, but Solo failed to live up to the expectations of those hoping to get a definitive version of Han Solo's origin story.

Disney+ is where Lucasfilm has found its greatest success in recent years, anyway, and even if The Book of Boba Fett was something of a mixed bag, it still didn't earn the scorn of picky fans.

As for Obi-Wan Kenobi, excitement for the show continues to build, especially as we'll see Ewan McGregor's Jedi Master finally square off with Anakin Skywalker again...this time as Darth Vader! The fact they met again between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope has come as a surprise, but the series has clearly found a way to make it work as everything we've heard sounds epic.

With a trailer reportedly imminent, two new Total Film covers for Obi-Wan Kenobi have been revealed (via SFFGazette.com). That's not Tatooine, and Obi-Wan clearly isn't going to be spending all his time on Luke Skywalker's home planet in the show. If you've been following the rumours, then that won't come as a surprise to you, but it's definitely exciting to see Obi-Wan back out in the Galaxy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27.

Sad he's not actually wearing his Jedi robes.

Fears about being recognised didn't stop Alec Guinness roaming the desert with it on for 10 years!

Can't wait

Hope it feels more focused than Mando and Boba can at times. Ewan's Obi Wan is my favorite Star Wars-film character so I'll watch regardless

OT (sorry):
Just saw that interview Sam Raimi, Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch had in Europe. Anyone notice Sam looks a bit uncomfortable or upset? And the pics they took of the trio are so awkward looking cause no one is embracing each other ! That’s so weird , other times everyone hugs each other.

Star Wars was one of the most popular stories in human history. In that story Anakin was badly defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar at the end of the Clone Wars and the beginning of the Galactic Empire. Obi-Wan took Luke to Tatooine to hide him from his father and Palpatine. He vowed to look over and protect the son of his former apprentice and best friend and follow the Will of the Force. Luke grew-up yada yada yada Obi-Wan sacrificed his life to Darth Vader in order to allow Luke to escape. Obi-Wan joined the Living Force. Luke, Old Ben's apprentice, follows a hero journey to defeat the Galactic Empire, his father, and Palpatine.

That was the story before. Now it'll be a different story being told by people trying to fill content space on a streaming service.
