OBI-WAN KENOBI Rumored To Have Cast A Young Princess Leia; F9's Sung Kang May Be Playing This Inquisitor

We have some exciting new rumours about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+, including casting for a young Princess Leia and news on how a familiar Inquisitor will factor into proceedings...

There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+, especially with Hayden Christensen set to make his return as Darth Vader. Fans are convinced that the Jedi Master will cross paths with his former apprentice, and there have been reports we'll see everything from a young Luke Skywalker to Clone Wars flashbacks.

Now, Cinelinx is reporting that Bird Box and We Can Be Heroes actress Vivien Lyra Blair is set to play a young Princess Leia Organa in the show. The site even claims that "Leia is pretty much the impetus for the whole show and what gets Obi-Wan (Ben) into another adventure."

This would be a fun twist on fan expectations, especially as most expected to see Kenobi leap into action on Tatooine to protect Luke. However, if Leia needs him, then that could prompt the hero to leave the planet in an effort to protect the young girl from falling into Vader's sinister clutches.

In Sith-related news, the site adds that F9: The Fast Saga star Sung Kang is set to play an Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it's one we're actually familiar with rather than a new creation, Apparently, he'll be suiting up as The Fifth Brother, a character first introduced in Star Wars Rebels who frequently teamed up with the Seventh Sister before being killed by Ahsoka Tano and Maul.

It seems Disney and Lucasfilm is setting out to fill in some big gaps in the Star Wars Universe's history with the show, and it's looking like Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to feature a lot of surprises.

What are you most looking forward to seeing in the series when it arrives next year?

At a time when the Marvel Universe is pushing things forward with exciting new characters and insane game changing multiverse developments, the Star Wars universe feels frustratingly stuck in a rut, retreading the same old material

I’m so sick of Star Wars retreading existing ideas. Just once I want a Star Wars movie or show that doesn’t involve existing characters or ideas. Or Jedi or Sith. Or Rebels or the Empire. Or Stars or Wars.

@Stinkor1 - Too bad. I'm sick of seeing new characters like Rey and crew who ruined star wars. More nostalgia and established characters the better.

@WakandaTech - Alex Kurtzman's deal is up in 2023, Strange New Worlds is his last chance. Discovery and Picard were huge let downs for me, but this new show sounds interesting. Then again the other ones sounded good on paper haha

I want to be excited about this series, it has a great cast and show runner but sadly Kathleen Kennedy has her talons dug deep so into this and controlling everything thing about it.

Luke and Leia have a strong bond, Luke will feel Leia's in trouble. In order to find her, Kenobi takes Luke with him, without the Lars' knowledge. Then he uses the force to wipe their memories and/or sever that connection at the end of the series. Luke and Leia's force connection returns in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke calls out to Leia.

@Timerider84 - you can’t have Luke meet Leia as a kid Luke won’t leave Tattooine

@McMurdo - Why can't Luke leave Tattoine? What rule says you can't? Because Kenobi can easily make Luke forget ever leaving. He could fly to Dagobah with Kenobi to meet master Yoda. Remember that scene from Empire? This place looks familiar, referring to Dagobah and having been there or maybe a dream he once had. Kenobi or Yoda could wipe his memory, but realize that Luke is the key to finding his sister Leia. Then they meet face to face in the last episode, only to be quickly hurried away and separated again, both their memories wiped clean. That would be heartbreaking for the twins.

@Timerider84 - you can hve him leave but you can’t have him meet The princess of Alderaan as ANH makes it clear he’s never met her

This is great and is exactly what I was hoping. We deserve more than a stays on the planet type film and Leia is that motivation. Hyped.

I don't immediately see the resemblence between Sung Kang and the Fifth Brother, but I'm just happy to see an Inquisitor in this show (do wonder how Obi-Wan is gonna escape his clutches, considering Kenobi won't kill him).

As for a young Leia making an appearance, I guess it makes sense. From Rogue One we do know more people are aware Kenobi is one of Bail's trusted allies.

Take your time to develop shows and movies, and have a plan. Don't act like they did for the sequel trilogy lol. And don't green light a first draft script from a dude who had one small budget movie under his belt, and someone who doesn't even like Star Wars lol

Pretty odd for brunette, brown eyed Leia to be played by a blue eyed, maybe blonde haired(?) girl.
