There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+, especially with Hayden Christensen set to make his return as Darth Vader. Fans are convinced that the Jedi Master will cross paths with his former apprentice, and there have been reports we'll see everything from a young Luke Skywalker to Clone Wars flashbacks.
Now, Cinelinx is reporting that Bird Box and We Can Be Heroes actress Vivien Lyra Blair is set to play a young Princess Leia Organa in the show. The site even claims that "Leia is pretty much the impetus for the whole show and what gets Obi-Wan (Ben) into another adventure."
This would be a fun twist on fan expectations, especially as most expected to see Kenobi leap into action on Tatooine to protect Luke. However, if Leia needs him, then that could prompt the hero to leave the planet in an effort to protect the young girl from falling into Vader's sinister clutches.
In Sith-related news, the site adds that F9: The Fast Saga star Sung Kang is set to play an Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it's one we're actually familiar with rather than a new creation, Apparently, he'll be suiting up as The Fifth Brother, a character first introduced in Star Wars Rebels who frequently teamed up with the Seventh Sister before being killed by Ahsoka Tano and Maul.
It seems Disney and Lucasfilm is setting out to fill in some big gaps in the Star Wars Universe's history with the show, and it's looking like Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to feature a lot of surprises.
What are you most looking forward to seeing in the series when it arrives next year?
