@TheManWithoutFear - PoCs in previous SW were representing the cultural situation in Hollywood, and in USA, nothing strange there.

What she's saying is that in 2022, Star Wars should really start to represent the cultural diversity in their media, according to reality and common sense.

The first trilogy was a child of 70s, the second was a child of the 90s and they were kind of sticking to the general representation in the industry. It's kind of weird that the third, child of 2010s is so "old" in terms of representation of all kinds of people IN A GALAXY WHERE PEOPLE IS USUALLY FROM COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SPECIES.

Having one PoC side character in a big saga where everybody else is white is basically meaning that you have almost nobody representing that side of real life society, Mace Windu and Lando are great, but is hard to argue that they balance the scale of representation :D

The stuff that got directed to Tran was horrible, and Disney really didn't handle it too well by literally sidelining her in ep XI

@bobevanz - Never said every movie should cast every ethnicity, just that in 2022, it’d be nice if every film wasn’t all white characters with one token black. It’d be nice to mix it up a little more, and it’s ridiculous how adding even one black character, like in this scenario, is being called “forced diversity”

@McMurdo - honestly though I don't care if she's a real character or a checked box, my point is she should have absolutely no real focus. If they have an original character they feel has a great story worth tell, fantastic! But Obi-Wan isn't the show to display a new original character of importance. We have six episodes to tell a captivating new chapter in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalkers Saga of friendship and betrayal. I don't give a [frick] about Revas past right now. She's a superficial side character. If she has a few dope scene's and smart lines and gains enough cool points in her brief time on screen, I'd 100% be down to see her in something else where they can then flesh her out.

But i don't give a [frick] about her. Nobody is tuning in for her. If she hijacks the show and steals time from the main characters simply because Disney is trying to use Obi-Wan and Vader coming back to spring board NEXT PRODUCT then im gonna flip the [frick] out.

I don't need this to be introducing us to substantial characters we have to get to know in depth in this show. Reva should be about as fleshed out as Boba Fett was in the original trilogy. Or as fleshed out as Grand Moff Tarkin was, or how much Jabba the Hutt was.... which is to say barely at all beyond the purpose they serve to further the story of our lead characters.

This is not The Book of Reva. This is not Reva: A Star Wars Story.

We have 6 episodes to reunite with old friends and see how THEY have changed.

It's the equivalent of going to lunch with your old buddies from your childhood, and you sit and order food from the waitress and then ask your friend hiw they've been, then suddenly the waitress sits down and answers your question and tell you her life story..... uh. Get the [frick] up out that seat, you are literally only involved to take our order and facilitate this lunch, we don't need to know your life story bitch!

@bobevanz - There were a lot of claims of racist sexist attacks and bots vs her but she never made that claim and no-one could produce any evidence of it actually happening online in the numerous articles written about it. If anything the whole thing proved the vast majority of SW fans don't care about the skin color of the actors they just want well written interesting characters that fit well in the universe.

@UniqNo - Yes, people make this claim all the time but no-one can actually show evidence. Been like that since day one of this claim. She left social media and said nothing about racist attacks but a ton of articles were written and made this claim as if it was 100% true and then people kept claiming it was true cause of those same news articles, it was like a circle jerk.
