OBI-WAN KENOBI Trailer Sees Ewan McGregor's Jedi Master On The Run From The Sith Inquisitors

The first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi has been released, and it's fair to say this limited series is going to be out of this world (literally and figuratively). In this sneak peek, we find the Jedi Master watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, but when the sinister Sith Inquisitors start making their presence felt, it becomes clear "Ben Kenobi" will finally be forced out of hiding as he embarks on a new mission.

This is the first time the Inquisitors have been portrayed in live-action, and yes, that is indeed Star Wars Rebels' Grand Inquisitor. He was played by Jason Isaacs in that series, but will be brought to life by Rupert Friend in this project. We'd argue that the villains looked a little better in animation than they do here; however, the threat they pose is clearly a significant one based on this epic footage.

That's it for major reveals, but stick around until the end and you'll hear familiar breathing. It's also telling that "Duel of the Fates" is used...could that play when Kenobi battles Darth Vader again?

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. The series is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi  premieres on May 25.

When Duel of the Fates kicked in…goosebumps.

Out of all the Star Wars properties released over the last few years, this is the one that actually has a reason to exist and a story worth telling.

I’m still not fully on board with them bringing Obi-Wan and Vader together and impacting their meeting in New Hope, but reserving judgment for the final product before making a determination on whether it enhances the story and is done right or just unnecessary fan service that harms the story already told.

Otherwise, cannot wait for this.

The trailer looks good an action packed, really enjoyed it.

Imagine if they'd just subverted expectations and shown Obi-Wan just partying and smashing hot Alien Babes.
Being a total Party Animal and not caring.

So big headlines will show up on SFGGazette and then just drop on here anyway 10 minutes later? Whats the point?

@SpideyPuffsMJ - When you aren't getting clicks over on one site...

@SpideyPuffsMJ - this is still their flagship site and I doubt they are getting as much engagement over their. Would rather 90% of that stuff was over on this site anyways

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Dividing the site into those stupid "sister sites" has been the stupidest decision they've ever taken.

@SpideyPuffsMJ, @JoeInTheBox, @MrDandy, @LlamaLord - I have no idea why he didn't include the trailer here. I actually just finished updating this post with the trailer.

The idea that creating and adding the sister sites is "the stupidest decision they've ever taken" goes to show that you don't understand what they're for. Apparently you're not the only one as some of the contributors don't seem to either...

They're not meant to take traffic from CBM, or send traffic from CBM, they're optimized and targeted to get fans of the other genres to them that *aren't* CBM fans.

@NateBest - I get that. Gotta try new things. But at the same time some articles that may have once come here have now vanished and are only on the sister site. That’s not a problem because I can see them over there, but it is a problem for the community discussion as they get less engagement.

@MrDandy - I think some may have missed the update in my post the other week regarding the content STILL showing up on CBM. That change/rule went into effect after seeing all of the feedback from the users.

Granted, this one wasn't posted correctly (it should have had the trailer embedded to start) with a link somewhere back to SFFGazette.

The way it works now is posts go to the *most applicable* site first. If there is another site that the content fits, it can be posted there as well, *after*.

In my eyes it's a win-win and it serves both communities equally well (Sci-Fi and CBM), but I'm sure there will be some that still aren't happy about it, even though they're getting exactly what they asked for :P

@NateBest - Any chance that links to the other sites would be a bit more visible? Like on top near the Facebook, Twitter, etc. links. As a fan of the other genres most of the times i just click "News" here and i forget about the others.
