OBI-WAN KENOBI Will Reportedly Introduce An Adorable Droid Sidekick For One Key Character - SPOILERS

Grogu might just be the most adorable addition to the Star Wars franchise of all-time, but a new rumour suggests that one key character in Obi-Wan Kenobi will be getting an equally cute droid sidekick...

With less than one month to go until Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+, StarWarsNews.net has shared a fun new rumour about a droid companion to the young Princess Leia!

The series is expected to follow the Jedi Master returning to action in an effort to rescue the 10-year-old Leia, and her droid sidekick is supposed to be a bodyguard of sorts. Unfortunately, the flying frisbee shaped protector isn't too good at its job, hence why she's ultimately kidnapped.

The site explains, "We were told that this droid is like a drone. It’s adorable, like a little bug that hovers over her to protect her. This new character is intended to capture the audience as the next big cute Star Wars character, following recent ones like Grogu, Babu Frik, and D-O. It has a circular shape, almost like an old flying saucer, with white and red colors."

Apparently, this droid's appearance has been based on a character featured in 1987 movie Batteries Not Included which was produced by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. This would be a fun nod to her past, and we wouldn't be all surprised if this droid quickly comes a highly sought after toy.

There's still no sign of another trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, but you have to believe a new look at the series isn't too far off. CinemaCon has been in full swing this week, and revealing fresh footage from the show could have seen it quickly become overshadowed by all the big news from the event.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27.

@MartianManHuntr - And you were hoping this article would change your mind somehow or just felt like the people that do like Star Wars would be interested in your comment?

@MartianManHuntr - It's a generational thing. For boomers and gen-xers the OT was like something they've never seen before. However, ever since then it's been all downhill and the magic is certainly gone imo. Disney has literally beaten this franchise into the ground in just a few short years.

Off topic: The FF movie sucked? Who knew? Lol https://www.indiewire.com/2022/04/jamie-bell-fantastic-four-reboot-disaster-1234720888/

@Feralwookiee - FF movies have been bad so there is nothing new. But while watching this reboot, I actually liked body horror scenes. In my mind I could imagine a better movie.

For privious 2 movies only liked silver surfer, everything else was bad.

@MartianManHuntr - The 2 earlier FF from Fox were bad in a bland dumb way; the reboot was bad, dumb, and bleak. The tone was insanely wrong for The Fantastic Four. Corman's schlock is still the "best" of them, which is sad.
