Star Wars Fans have been clamouring for an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie or TV series for many years now, and it looks like that anticipation has propelled the first two episodes of the Disney+ show to unprecedented heights on the streaming service.
Though no official figures have been shared (they never are), a press release claims that the two two-episode debut of Obi-Wan Kenobi is now the most-watched Disney+ Original series premiere globally to date, based on hours streamed in an opening weekend.
This is a pretty major accomplishment when you factor in how popular previous live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett were, not to mention the massive success of Marvel Studios shows such as Loki, Hawkeye and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Of course, not everyone was overly impressed by these first instalments, but Ewan McGregor's star power and the promise of learning more about the legendary Jedi's time on Tatooine (and beyond) pre-A New Hope clearly ensured that more than enough people tuned in.
Episode 3 of Obi-Wan Kenobi is now streaming, and it's quite something. No spoilers here in case you haven't had a chance to watch yet, but be sure to check back for our recap a little later on.
