Star Wars' social media channels recently shared a handful of new Ahsoka stills from last week's "Shadow Warrior," and Lucasfilm has since sent over a massive gallery of hi-res shots from the episode.

These head our way mere hours before the show's sixth instalment hits Disney+ and we're hoping it's now going to be Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn's chance to shine.

Going back to these images, though, and along with a closer look at the World Between Worlds sequence, we see Darth Vader's latest return to the franchise, The Clone Wars in live-action, a young Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and Anakin Skywalker's continuing struggle with his inner darkness.

Hayden Christensen's return as Anakin was revealed in advance but never officially announced, and for animation fans, his latest cameo was nothing short of jaw-dropping (mainly because he donned that iconic armour). It's also led to another round of well-deserved praise for the actor who originally played the Jedi-turned-Sith in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith

Prior to reprising his role in Ahsoka, the Obi-Wan Kenobi star shared high praise for the work Dave Filoni did on The Clone Wars alongside George Lucas.

"I love Clone Wars. I think what Dave Filoni did with Clone Wars and Rebels are brilliant," he said. "I’m indebted to Dave Filoni because I think he helped the character of Anakin a lot. I think he fleshed out the character and also furthered our understanding of Anakin’s relationship with the Jedi and the Council and the mistrust that he harboured."

"I think the franchise is in good hands right now, and what Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are doing is brilliant, and so as a fan I’m very happy to see it expand."

Christensen would later confirm he'd have happily reprised the role in animation had they asked and it's a shame that didn't happen. Of course, we can take nothing away from the incredible job Matt Lanter did with the character over several years (including briefly in Star Wars Rebels as Darth Vader).

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

The first five episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.

As much as I wasn't too hot on his parts in the ep, people complaining about how he looked are reaching. If you hadn't told me he'd been de-aged I'd have had no idea, it's uncanny

@Cap1 - It was more apparent in the reveal in ep 4, I watched it again yesterday and it's still wonky. I didn't notice it nearly as much in ep 5 so that's a success, not that my opinion means anything.

@WhatIfRickJames - yeah I agree, looked like his face had been stuck on with blu tack, lighting was all off, but in the full ep he looked great

I gave up on Star Wars, but you never give up on Star Wars. So ... is this worth watching? Or is it as bad as Obi Wan?

@GeneralZod - It’s not as dumb but is also dumb since now anybody can have the force if you just develop it,
It’s more boring. The 5th episode was more tolerable but mainly because of the member berries, and the plot contrivances for convenience are overt.

Disney has destroyed Star Wars.

@GeneralZod - It's a little slow in spots, and some of the acting's a tad stiff, but overall, it's worth the watch, especially if you were a Rebels fan.

@GeneralZod - I’m still in for Andor S2 but I feel the same way. All of these big IPs having a never-ending content factory behind them has made me tire of them. I can’t just commit myself to watching endless shows and movies of varying quality forever. For those who enjoy them, I’m happy those people are getting more of what they enjoy. I just can’t commit to watching it all so I pick and choose the occasional project that interests me.

I have been enjoying exploring new content and different genres lately. Currently watching Silo on Apple+ and that show is great so far.

@GeneralZod - If you’re a fan of Clone Wars and Rebels, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not watching it. It’s a direct continuation of those, and it’s done well.

@TyrantBossMedia - It’s always been like that in Star Wars bud. That’s why they are called force sensitive. It doesn’t exclude that others can’t feel the force as well. Just some are born to be more in tune with it, with a slight talent for it and are easier to teach, which is why the Jedi cherry pick their Padawans. If it’s something that binds every single living thing, of course it’s something that anyone can be in tune with. This isn’t even the first show to expand on that, Donnie Yang’s role in rogue one seemed like someone who wasn’t force sensitive but had strong beliefs and taught himself to trust in the force and use it as a guide. Doesn’t mean he could just push and pull shit at a whim. And Hans having a bad feeling about this, those bad feelings, thats him being aware of the force whether he wanted to believe in it or not. He recognizes the bad feeling, again doesn’t mean that Han could push or pull shit.and I dont see the problem with someone training hard to be more in tune with it. It’s not like they just took Sabine and trained her a few times and boom she could move something extreme, she can’t even move a paper weight right now and she’s trying, she’s being advised by one of the best and you can see its a struggle for her. A lot of ppl complained about Rey just knowing how to do stuff and here you are with someone who is struggling to connect the dots and then theres hate? Lol ppl gotta make up their mind.
@generalzod I think its worth it, i dont know you but if you can enjoy things with a slower pace, you ever heard about ‘Ma’? Hayao Miyazaki likes to talk about Ma and how he uses it in ghibli films, quiet moments you dont typically see on screen, like a character staring off into nothing, or a slow drip from a pipe as a character is in deep thought, a lizard quickly crossing a counter. It has that kinda vibe. But I think it sets the stage for us to pay more attention cuz there are moments where the characters are implored to listen and i think that goes for us as audience members, be quiet and listen to the environment. I understand ppls gripe with it, we are in an age where everything is fast pace, social media and such, and holly wood has always been quick to cut scenes fast. But this has breathing room and I appreciate the breathing room to process. So if thats something you enjoy, then you at least wont have that to complain about. Also i hope people dont forget that the force is based on Tai Chi, breathing, calmness, peace. and this show is more about about the nature of the force than any other Star Wars property, so naturally it takes on that element of Calmness. And any stiff character stuff you see in this, I think character development along the episodes will help you to understand why a particular person could be so distant and unmoving. And slowly we’ve seen a shift. The characters in it really have dealt with some major traumatic experiences, and they where it on their face but these experiences are eventually shown/told to us. So if you give it a chance, you’ll find some understanding. I can’t promise that you’ll like it but, imo, i think its pretty dope.

But you go right ahead and keep trying to make yourself actually seem important.

Looks like KK is allowing Filoni to do his thing with Ahsoka while she does hers with Rey. How soon before she dumps him because his stories are better?

@DevilsDreams - Well, Kennedy's an EP on Ahsoka and Andor and Rogue One and all of everyone's faves. She's as much responsible for all that's right about Star Wars as she is about what's wrong.
