Season 2 of The Mandalorian introduced us to a live-action Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and her allies, Koska Reeves (Mercedes Varnado/Mercedes Moné) and Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides).

The latter was mysteriously absent in the finale, and we've actually seen neither of them since Luke Skywalker helped deal with Moff Gideon's Dark Troopers and - briefly - took Grogu into his care.

In The Mandalorian's season 3 premiere, "The Apostate," the returning Bo-Katan told Din that her allies abandoned her after she failed to return to them with the Darksaber. That presumably means Reeves and Woves too, though set photos have previously shown the two of them on set.

Unfortunately, those shots were far too blurry to say for sure, and Moné's repeated claims that she won't be part of this season have led to concerns we won't see the two fan-favourite characters again.

Shocking Decision That Changes EVERYTHING - SPOILERS

Some newly released season 3 merchandise (via SFFGazette.com) appears to confirm both of the Mandalorians will return in the coming weeks. This isn't a massive shocker and was to be expected in some ways, but it's nice to know we haven't seen the last of them! As for what role they'll play in this story, that's currently a mystery to us.

Oh, and if you're wondering about the two mystery figures hidden in shadow, that's The Armorer and Din Djarin's N-1 Starfighter. We're not sure why they're being kept secret while Reeves and Woves are on full display, but that's just the way these things go with merch like this sometimes.

"Still the best Star Wars TV show," we said in our recent review of the first two episodes, "The Mandalorian returns with everything fans love about the franchise and plenty of hints that this will be the most thrilling and revealing season yet. We’re ready for that Bo-Katan Kryze spin-off."

Be sure to head on over to SFFGazette.com for our breakdowns of The Mandalorian's latest episode!

So many questions about the "never remove your helmet" thing. Can they take it off when not around others? How do they eat, how do they get haircuts, what if they have an itch on their head, or get an eye infection, or get sick and blow chunks all over it. I'm so confused.

@NGFB - Yes. They eat in private or sneak food under their helmet. Droids do their haircuts or they did it themselves. They’ll use a bacta stim for an infection. Basically, the rule of thumb is: don’t remove your helmet around other living people.

@NGFB - This was shown in Season 1 of The Mandalorian. In privacy a Mandalorian can remove their helmet to eat and drink. But amongst company or wandering eyes they must keep it on. The episode where Mando and Cara Dune help that village, Mando removes his helmet to eat while Grogu plays with the villagers.

@NGFB - it's just symbolism man, don't have to question every minute detail.

@EgoEgor - It would all be so much simpler if instead of asking "have you removed your helmet?", they ask "have you removed your helmet in the presence of another?"

@PlusUltra - I meant completely. They all have separate message inboxes and My avatar is missing. Yes, my user name and password work on the affiliates now, which is an improvement, but they are still 8 separate accounts.

Felt bad for Pershing, man. That lady is clearly a First Order plant. But what a great moment for Bo Katan at the end there.

@PlusUltra - they are doing a great job with Bo-Katan this season, really liking her

@Urubrodi - They really are. They did the right thing making her a lead. The dynamic between Bo and Din works nicely. It’s going to be interesting to see whether or not she allows her budding friendship with Mando to come into conflict with her plans to lead Mandalore. She’s got hard a exterior, but based on that last scene, it’s seems as if what she’s really seeking is some deeper belonging.

Mando season 3 has less viewers than Boba Fett. They went woke by firing Carano. Now they can pay the price!

Season 3 has been shit anyway.

@PartyKiller - By 2%. Carano really made a difference LOL

@PlusUltra - Overall, it was probably 25% less than it should've been. And now Willow is cancelled. Lucasfilm made a big mistake pissing off 50% of the country.
