Disney+ and Lucasfilm have released a new batch of stills from Andor, and they offer a better look at some of the show's characters. Among them are Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma, and new additions to the Star Wars Universe, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn and Denise Gough as Dedra Meero.
Most intriguing is a shot of Stellan Skarsgard as Luthen Rael, a character it's believed will play a pivotal role in Cassian Andor's transformation from scoundrel to hero
Earlier this year, Luna opened up on exploring Cassian's path to becoming the Rebel we first met in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. "Well, for me, it's important because I believe that storytelling, and more precisely science fiction, is it's a beautiful thing - a beautiful tool to remind ourselves what we are capable of and what should be worrying us and I believe this is the world of Rogue One and the story of Cassian."
"[It's] a story about real people finding out they're capable of, of doing something of changing their reality," the actor continued. "The story we are going to tell in these 12 episodes, it's about that awakening. I believe there is no better time to come out with a story like this than today."
"The world we live in needs us. It needs us to get involved, to feel capable of actually doing stuff. This is the story of someone that probably, at the beginning, [who] didn't know he was capable or had not acknowledged that he was capable of [anything]. That's why I think it's important to tell it now and to do it right."
Talking of Rogue One, we'll sure you'll also notice the return of the movie's Deathtroopers! We're intrigued to see how they factor into this show, and whether we can expect to see Ben Mendelsohn's villainous Director Krennic during his own formative years.
