Star Wars: The Force Unleashed told the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, and yesterday's episode of Andor seemingly confirmed that Starkiller does - or did - exist in the Disney Star Wars canon...

By putting Jedi and big-name characters to one side, Andor largely feels like a standalone story to some extent. It's still an important chapter in the wider Star Wars mythos, though, as we're learning about the formation of the Rebellion that would ultimately topple the evil Empire.

Yesterday's episode, however, featured a huge Easter Egg that's got fans everywhere talking. In Luthen Rael's den of antiquities on Coruscant, there are a few interesting items on display...and a suit of armour that looks extremely familiar.

Found around the 29:45 mark in the episode, that seems to be the "Lord Starkiller" helmet from the beloved Force Unleashed video games. This iteration of the character, Galen Marek, killed Darth Vader and went on to take his place. That story obviously isn't canon, and not even the events of the first game are believed to have occurred in the Disney era of Star Wars.

Fans have been hoping that Lucasfilm might find a way to bring Starkiller back, even if it means he was no longer Vader's secret apprentice. There are definitely other eras his story could play out in, and this Easter Egg seems to suggest that the character did exist at some point in this Galaxy Far, Far Away's history.

If not Starkiller, then someone has donned his armour, and we can't believe this was an accidental nod. Now, it doesn't necessarily mean he is going to show up in the near future, but perhaps Lucasfilm will find a way to make him part of the upcoming High Republic era of storytelling. If so, we'd like to think Sam Witwer will be asked to reprise the role.

@Himura - Eh, it's just an easter egg, barely a spoiler. But thats just my opinion. There's basically zero chance that this is going to be something they ever expand upon. I like Sam Witwer, and I enjoyed the games back when they came out, but I never found the story or character to be very compelling. So I guess I prefer it just stay an easter egg.

@Humby - Anything that was put in a movie or show to entertain you is less entertaining if you already know it's coming.

"*SPOILER* dies in the new House of the Dragon episode!" Oh, wonder who that will be...

@Humby - I mean, then why mark it as a spoiler?

Spotted by it being framed dead center between two characters talking on screen. Sleuths!

They need to make a Starkiller series.

@HeavyMetal4Life - He's too overpowered for live-action and his story no longer fits with current canon, so much would need to be changed that is probably not worth it.

@Urubrodi - exactly. I hate the power levels are so messed up. Not even palpatine or yoda were so powerful.

Same thing for Vader stopping / destroying the ship in Obi Wan.

Was an exciting Easter Egg, but its existence pretty much proves Starkiller as we know him isn't cannon, this is just a fun Easter egg.

@TheVandalore - this version of him can't even exist in Canon since he killed Vader.

I’m two episodes in and it’s starting to drag: tell me it gets better because it is as exciting as Diego Lina’s character was in Rogue One….and that’s not good.

@TyrantBossMedia - the pace does not pick up. It stays about the same so far.

@TyrantBossMedia - episode 3 has a lot more pace and action to it, and episode 4 was my favourite so far. If you're not a fan of well-written dialogue and political intrigue this might not be the show for you. There isn't an explosion or a joke every 5 minutes I'm afraid...

@TyrantBossMedia - Well, I've watched all four, which is essentially the first act, and whilst it is slow it is important build up to the environment for the pace to pick up.

As this is a prequel of a prequel, you could always wait until it is done and take it at any pace. I'm actually considering that myself.

@TheRidd1er - I am a fan of well-written dialogue and political intrigue, which is why I keep watching, but it doesn't go anywhere. They keep introducing potentially interesting characters that I want to care about, but then cut to another new, potentially interesting character.

None of them have much -no ANY- character development. And we're 4 episodes in already.

I wanted to care about Karn, but now he's been replaced by some other person who is basically a female version of the exact same character. Someone who does things by the book, is climbing the ranks and cares about the efficiency of the Empire and not the corrupt bureaucracy.

I want to care about Andor too, since he's the main character, but I find myself becoming bored when they switch to his story. He's the leas interesting thing about his own show.

@ObserverIO - Karn's story isn't over :-)

@TheRidd1er - if you’ve paid attention to anything I’ve posted before on this site then you’d know I am all about writing, but there is also something called pacing when it comes to a script and so far the pacing of Andor is painfully slow.

One of the refreshing things about this show was the lack of member berries, but apparently somebody complained because episode 4 was full of them. But because Gilroy's not a Star Wars fan, none of them made much sense.

Starkiller is just another example of this. There was even an easter egg for Indiana Jones' whip, which makes no sense unless there's time travel involved.

So I think this is pretty meaningless. Just random Lucasfilm stuff thrown haphazardly into a show that doesn't care for them, doesn't want them and doesn't understand them.

There was also a KOTOR easter egg.
