OBI-WAN KENOBI Set Photos Feature Ewan McGregor As The Returning Jedi Master, Imperial Officers, & More

New photos from the set of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series have found their way online, and although his costume is covered, they give us a first glimpse of Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi

As filming on the upcoming Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series continues in The UK, Just Jared has shared a whopping 90 photos from the set, giving us a first look at star Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master of the title.

Unfortunately, the Halston actor is wearing a plastic covering which obscures the majority of his costume, and his signature beard is also hidden behind a mask. There's no mistaking the Stormtrooper outfit one of the extras has under his robe, however, and we also have a few shots of a female Imperial Officer.

This might be one of the previously announced supporting cast members (Simone Kessell, perhaps?), but it's very hard to tell with the mask.

UPDATE: There's another shot of the officer without her mask, and it actually looks like it might be Game of Thrones alum Indira Varma.

Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know that Obi-Wan will be set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, and that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader for a confrontation with his old master. There are also rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.

McGregor joins Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Their characters have not been announced.

The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm all episodes of the series, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on board as producer along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

Oh no. Now they need mask mandates on tatooine.

From the limited visual of Obi’s attire I can say I dig it…Seems like they’re leaning more into the hermit type of look and less straight up Jedi robes…

@vegetaray - if he’s in hiding, why would he wear overtly obvious clothes that would paint a target on his back?

@Dabs - that was something I always found weird about the prequels. In the OT Ben and Yoda wore those clothes because they were in hiding. Luke didn't wear Jedi clothes that looked like that. And in making those Jedi robes, Obi-Wan wasn't in hiding much lol

@Dabs - He purposely put a target on his back because he knew the Stormtroopers would always miss it.

So how long after RotS does this take place? Because he's supposed to look like Alec Guinness 19 years later and right now he's looking like he could be hired as the model for a shampoo commercial.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I think its said to be 10 years later. Those Tatooine suns ain't gonne be doing him any favors those last few years

Oh wow, he's not nearly as aged up as I'd expected. He doesn't look much older than he did in the prequels.

Perhaps this is a "flash back" to what he did after Order 66, but the actual main show takes place after this scene they are filming.... maybe? I was hoping for a greyer Obi-Wan. More wrinkles.

Excited for this, if only to see Ewan again as Obi-Wan. Hopefully it delivers

Is it possible Simone Kessell turns out to be an aged-up Omega? She’s half Maori on her mother’s side and I can genuinely see her as a female Temuera Morrison but younger.

Plus the timeframe makes sense if this takes place around 10 years after bad batch, and since clones have accelerated aging it lines up

@JFerguson - highly doubt it.

@McMurdo - yeah same. Food for thought though. Hope at the very least Temuera returns as Cody for this

@JFerguson -
I hope Omega doesn't age at the same rate as a clone trooper. That may be a quirk that sets her apart from the other clones. Also, she is a clone of the bad batch. She is different.

Also, I want to see Omega on The Mandalorian Show or a similar Show. Something Post-Return of the Jedi.

@Repian - It will be interesting to see where she ends up at the end of the Bad Batch show.

Ewan McGregor as a younger Obi-Wan is probably the best piece of casting ever done for the ‘saga’ movies. Can’t wait to see this show.

Am I seeing grey temples? Does this mean he's also cast as Reed Richards?

Anyway, from what I can tell this is definitely a hermit look.
