It's been a while since that first trailer, but now we finally have word on when we can expect to see Bryan Fuller’s Starz adaptation of Sandman creator Neil Gaiman’s American Gods.

The network has officially announced that the show will debut on Sunday, April 30 at 9:00 P.M., following its March 11 SXSW presentation.

They've also released a new promo poster, giving us a look at Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) and his shady boss Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) getting the lay of the land as a storm gathers above. There's also a buffalo by the car, which will make sense to anyone who has read the book.

American Gods

American Gods also stars Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Corbin Bernsen as Vulcan, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Gillian Anderson as Media, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Dane Cook as Robbie, Jonathan Tucker as Low-Key Lyesmith, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis and Bruce Langley as the Technical Boy.

Hopefully if this does good, it could pave the way for a Sandman show.

@Talontd - They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but the cover reminds me of the old school Ace books.

I'm also reading Ready Player One. When I'm done with that, I'll probably read Malcolm Nance's new book about the election.

I've been reading this book for like... a whole damn year. The first 100 pages were great and fast, but holy shit, I've been having the hardest time finishing this and I'm really close to the end.

That being said, I didn't get the buffalo reference, but then again this book is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, only giving clues about true identities and the like.

@thomashilfiger - I didn't like the flashbacks? Or short side stories is probably a better way to discribe them. I felt they just Made the book longer and I wanted to just keep to the main story.

Enjoyed the book and recommend it to all, especially if your a fan of Gaiman.
THe book was very vivid and detailed and also the show looks beautiful.

I imagined Dwayne Johnson, with a character similar to his film Faster, as Shadow.

A great cast.
