When it comes to family nothing is thicker than blood. Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries premieres Thursday, October 8 at 8/7c.

Get ready for more epic thrills and romance in the seventh season of The Vampire Diaries. After saying an emotional goodbye to Elena Gilbert, some characters will recover while others falter and Bonnie, in particular, will explore her new lease on life. As Damon and Stefan’s mother, Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), tries to drive a wedge between the Salvatore brothers, hope remains that Stefan and Caroline’s love story is tough enough to survive. Damon will do whatever it takes to take down his mother and her band of Heretics, and Enzo will struggle with where his loyalties lie. Plus, with Mystic Falls in disarray and the arrival of the Heretics — who are set on retaliation and mayhem — the suspense will be stronger than ever. Guest stars this season include Tim Kang (The Mentalist), Justice Leak (Insurgent), Todd Lasance (Spartacus: War of the Damned), Elizabeth Blackmore (Evil Dead) and Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter films).

The Vampire Diaries features:

When season 5 ended, I just said [frick] it and stopped watching. After season 3, the show just kept going down hill for me, Damian was the only interesting character, but not enough to stomach through another season.

again, this show has nothing to do with comic books or movies so why the hell are we hearing about it on this web site?

I don't watch it, but please tell me that I'm not the only one that calls this show "the Vampire Diarrheas"?

Actually looking forward to this season. Now that Elena's gone I feel like they can actually focus on refreshing storylines.

and @PartyMouse it's probably because its based on a book.

Dunno why yall be clicking on articles to shows you either hate or dont watch anyways...but such is the way of trolls.

Himura: Don't be so eager to just toss the "troll" word around. It reduces its effectiveness. There was nothing "trolly" about my comment. Just something I find amusing. No need to get your panties in a twist.

I clicked on the article and watched the clip to see if it looks interesting. It didn't do anything for me, but I don't begrudge anyone that enjoys it. Peace and love, and all that jazz.

By the way, love your username. I'm a huge Kenshin fan. Have a reverse blade sword hanging on my living room wall. Have you seen the live-action trilogy? It's fantastic.

@PartyMouse - Stop complaining and do a simple google search. You will find the TVD Comic Book.
