VENOM Has Now Passed $700M At The Worldwide Box Office, Propelling Sony To $2B+ Internationally
There doesn't seem to be any stopping Sony's critically panned Venom movie, which has now crossed the $700 million mark at the global box office thanks to a very impressive showing in China. Check it out.
Most of us scoffed at Sony's plans for a Spider-Man-less Venom movie back when it was announced, and while the finished product did prove to be highly divisive, there's no arguing with the success it's enjoyed.
After Venom's record-breaking opening in China last week we estimated that it could well finish its theatrical run with a $700m-$750m global cume, and now Deadline reports that it has already passed the $700M mark, propelling Sony Pictures past $2 billion at the international box office for 2018 in the process.
These latest figures mean that the Ruben Fleischer-directed antihero flick will most likely amass at least $800 million before it's done, which just goes to show that you really never know what's going to resonant with general audiences.
