Disney inherited a number of movies from Twentieth Century Fox following the merger, but Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy is easily the one we're most excited to watch later this summer.
The Deadpool 2 star plays an NPC who gains sentience in the video game world he calls home, something which leads to him fighting back against the players who make the life of NCPs difficult on a daily basis. Now, we have another new trailer and poster for the movie that not only highlights the impressive supporting cast, but also sheds a little more light on this movie's wacky concept.
"'Free Guy,' a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself," reads the synopsis for the blockbuster that will release exclusively in theaters. "Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late."
Free Guy also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi, while it will be directed by Shawn Levy from a story by Matt Lieberman and a screenplay by Lieberman and Zak Penn. As we mentioned, the movie isn't getting a Disney+ release and will instead arrive on the big screen on August 13. We should have much more from this one soon.
In the meantime, check out the new trailer and poster below:
