While not directly related to a CBM, this news does include some big names who have portrayed some of our favorites on the big screen.

Activision Publishing, Inc. and game developer Treyarch, announced yesterday that award-winning actors Gary Oldman and Ed Harris have joined the cast of Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, with David S. Goyer having come on board to provide script consultation and story development support. Oldman, known for his work in The Professional, Dracula, Batman: The Dark Knight and most recently, The Book of Eli, will reprise his role as Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: World at War; and Harris, best known for his roles in films like The Abyss, A History of Violence, Pollock, Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff, will play one of the game's main characters, CIA operative Jason Hudson. Filmmaker David S. Goyer's writing credits include the blockbusters Batman: Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Blade and the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel.

"Oldman, Harris and Goyer are considered some of Hollywood's finest talents and they perfectly complement Call of Duty: Black Ops' ambitious and immersive single player experience," says Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. "Their contributions have helped us to push the boundaries of our story telling and character development far beyond anything we have ever attempted before in the franchise."

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released worldwide on 9th November. You can find more news, screenshots and trailers in our Black Ops area.

Food for thought:
CoD is bigger than any CBM
CoD MW2 cost ($50+$200 mill) and earned more than $1.2 billion with sales of 20 million copies worldwide

while IM2 cost the same, had a bigger reach still perished at $600 mill.

I love video games,I love CBM's

@ bullsize

i can see what you're saying, but you've got to look at it this way a cinema ticket in england cost about £7.50 & a video game cost about £40.00.

normally it'll be one person one video game.

for the same price of a video game,4-5 people can go the cinema.

so if cinema tickets cost £40.00,iron man would of taken the same as call of duty.

I love Video Games as much as I Love Comics but, Call of Duty, Modern Warfare and any other Military Based Game is GARBAGE and BORING and is not worth being mentioned on this site regardless of the character cast!!!!!!

I guess I have to apologize for those that didn't get the CBM tie-in... Maybe they didn't read the post? I guess it's possible that they don't know who Gary Oldman or David S. Goyer are, and what their involvement with CBMs has been (or is in the case of "Superman: Man of Steel")?
