Mark Wahlberg To Play Nathan Drake In Uncharted Movie Adaptation!

Based on the best selling video game and motion comic, the actor has confirmed recent rumours that he'll play the lead character in the movie and also says that Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci are both in the running for roles...

"David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with. The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."

"I'm obviously in whatever David wants to do, but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure."

As you can see from the action packed trailer below, a faithful movie adaptation has the potential to be awesome. While many fans (including myself) of the game were hoping that Nathan Fillion would end up getting the role, Wahlberg is capable of giving a decent enough performace with the right director. Here's hoping they dont mess this one up.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are both available exclusively on the PS3 and the motion comic is for sale on the Playstation Network. To see my take on who the cast should include, click HERE.
