Mortal Kombat is set for release in theaters and on HBO Max (US only) tomorrow, but just in case you want another taste of some of the old ultra-violence on offer before then, Warner Bros. has shared one of the movie's brutal fatalities online.

The clip sees Jax Briggs (Mehcad Brooks) put his shiny new arms to use by laying a vicious beat-down on Reiko (Nathan Jones), before finishing him with one of the character's signature moves from the video games: the head smash!

Gory enough for ya?

Check out the clip below, and you can see the opening 7 minutes of the movie right here.

In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark.
Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat is set for a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max on April 23.

@RokoVII - a lot was said about the fatalities & the ones we got were awesome but honestly there should’ve been an actual tournament to put them in.I liked it,definitely didn’t love it.For a movie that spent an eternity in development hell, the whole thing felt rushed like it was put together quick and on the fly.The 20 MK games’ storyline are way better than the one we got here. And they did my guy Goro pretty dirty here. But still I’m happy we got something.Hopefully the sequel if there is one will spend a little more thought on a plot and character development.
....and bring in my boy Erron Black

Wait...so they censored him cussing but happy to show him crush a guys skull. I'll never understand these censorship rules.

also it looked OK, I'm sure in the greater scheme of things it will fit the nicely but just seemed dumb. maybe it's the choreography for the scene.

Still checking it out tomorrow though. hopefully its successful to warrant a sequel.

@Jaykay21 - I think its just the fact that the guy playing Reiko is a fantastically horrible actor. Nothing else I've seen of this movie have been anywhere near the level of cheese in this clip.

@Jaykay21 - not to mention nudity, the most natural thing ever, always gives a movie an instant r rating.

@Jaykay21 - yep, it’s one of those strange U.S. issues. Can show beheading or disembowelment but don’t drop an f bomb or show a woman’s nipple.

The way this is shot and choregraphed doesn't look great. Nothing compared to the teaser we got earlier. I think its trying to harken back to that 90s version. Came out before I was born but I've always wanted to see it! Only seen the corniest scenes like this
