This game looks pretty awful honestly… All it needs are better graphics and more than 5 good characters in it. Oh thats right its DC…..

When's the release?

I hate it when people say the combat looks dumb. How is the combat NOT good, when every single other MMO, you just click once and your character attacks until the enemy is dead?

Anyway, release is Nov. 2, according to Jim Lee.

And evidently there will be a montly fee of $14.99. A lot of people seem to be upset about that. Cleary they're new to MMOs.

@InterJohn I posted in another topic about this, but you can't be a GL. I was looking forward to it, too. The developers said we'll have to wait for an expansion pack for that kind of stuff.

hulksgirl87 - 6/16/2010, 8:12 PM
@suffertree DO you have a link for the 14.99 pricing? I've been everywhere looking for it even the official site..... There hasn't even been any word of pricing at E3....

DC UNIVERSE?

That mean we'll be able to go to Oa? Or Atlantis even? How about getting to screw with Kronos while he was viewing the Big Bang? Time travel to WWII and fight alongside the JSA?I could go on, but waitaminit....this isn't going to be a movie, is it?

...and yeah, the combat looks a little hokey. These MMOs are quite the racket. For 14.95 a month, the software should definetly be free, hell they could probably afford to give you a year old laptop for that rate....

McLovin - 6/16/2010, 9:22 PM
wait, so you can't play as the DC heroes? You have to be a nobody they made up and pick a side? I don't think I like that. I don't want to play next to them, I want to BE them!!!
Chillrazor
Chillrazor - 6/16/2010, 11:33 PM
I'm gonna stick with City Of Heroes.
WeaponX
WeaponX - 6/17/2010, 12:44 AM
I like what I see. I'd rather make my own hero and be part of the DCU than be just one of a million Batman's running around. That'd just take away from what they're trying to do.

Not excited about the $15 a month fee, it's a bit much. For two months fine but considering one will probably drop $60-70 for the initial game it hardly seems fair to gouge them 30 days later.
Destroyer14
Destroyer14 - 6/17/2010, 5:24 AM
Why couldn't they just make this a regular game? Instead of online.
McLovin

that's an excellent question Destroyer!!!!! What gives DC?
marvel72
marvel72 - 6/17/2010, 10:40 AM
this could be the best comic related video game ever.
it is currently batman arkham asylum.
but this could be how it will look in year or so.
1.dc universe online
2.batman arkham asylum 2
3.marvel vs capcom.

@InterestingJohn
dont loose hope, i read that u will be able to make a green lantern like character by choosing the powers that he has and choosing to get the powers from a ring and choosing green(or whatever color u choose) as the color of the power and ur toon's outfit.

almost ALL mmos charge a monthly fee, i know alot of non-hardcore gamers cant understand that but when u factor in this lasting more then the average 40-60hr video game, then it makes sense to spend 15bucks a month instead of buying 3-4 regular video games a month at 60 bucks a pop. its a choice is all, mmos are not for everyone, as others stated play a plateform game like arkham asylum or spiderman.

the whole point of this game is to make ur OWN super hero to run around fighting crime with other ppl in the DC world playing their OWN super hero, flip side of that is u could be a super villian and form ur own legion of doom:) u get to fight along side NPC's (Non-Player Characters) like superman, batman, joker, etc. and be part of the story lines that make up the DC world. it sounds like a fun concept to me and is too massive to be just another plateform game that u play solo.
not sure about PVP (Player Vs.Player) combat, i think they will prob have areas that u can do that.

@Chillrazor i think its going to be alot like city of heroes except u get the added flavor of fighting along and interacting with known DC heroes/villians in the DC universe. that alone might appeal to some ppl that wouldnt play city of heroes

@InterestingJohn I'm just saying to make such a big game and make it an MMO, it's not really fare to all the DC fans who can't get Wi-Fi.
golden123
golden123 - 6/17/2010, 4:53 PM
I heard the Metal Men might not be in this, if so do you think you can combine to heroes powers together (lets say Steel and Plastic Man to make something like T-1000 from the Terminator films)? I might not get the game if both the answers are no I might not get the game or I might just use clayface's powers.
@Interestingjohn they will expand to the Green Lantern Corp eventually but meanwhile you can indeed do what NiteSoul69 says and put your power type to hard light constructs and choose the color green and such.

@InterstingJohn I do have Wi-fi. I'm just saying that a huge DC game should be released as a disc.

I played this at e3 and let me tell you, it's whack. The character models are waaaaay out of date, and the gameplay basically ends up being a button mashing fest. Overall it was quite unimpressive.
