Collider is reporting that Marvel Cinematic Universe veterans Adam Pally (Iron Man 3; Happy Endings) and Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger; DC's Legends of Tomorrow) have both joined the cast of Paramount's upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) will voice the central character while James Marsden (X-Men) will play the human lead, a small-town cop that finds himself on the road trip of a lifetime with the speedster hedgehog as they race to San Francisco. Pally will play a police officer that works alongside Marsden's character while details on McDonough's character are being kept under wraps.
In addition to Marsden and Schwartz, Tika Sumpter (Nobody's Fool) will play the female protagonist while 2x Golden Globe-winner Jim Carrey (Kidding) will star as the evil Dr. Robotnik.
Jeff Fowler (Gopher Broke) is directing with a screenplay from 12 Deadly Days scribes Patrick Casey and Josh Miller. Neal H. Moritz (Fast and Furious) is producing while Tim Miller (Deadpool) is onboard as an executive producer.
