Rumour has it that the first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer will be released later today, but a leaked image has started doing the rounds which offers a first look at Jim Carrey suited up as the evil Robotnik.

He looks the part (mostly), and it's easy enough to imagine him stealing the show here with one of his trademark zany performances. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a lot of goodwill surrounding the movie as of right now, especially after the big unveiling of Sonic was met with ridicule. 

That doesn't mean this movie won't be a hit, of course, and it will be interesting to actually see Sonic in action if we do get that trailer later on. 

It's been said that Detective Pikachu successfully breaks the video game curse, but whether Sonic the Hedgehog will keep that trend going is another matter altogether. What do you guys think of this first look at Robotnik? Let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section below.
