Earlier today, Naughty Dog shared a new behind-the-scenes shot of Uncharted star Tom Holland meeting the man who brought Nathan Drake to life in the video games, Nolan North, on the set of the movie. The Spider-Man actor then teased on Twitter that he was going to follow that up with an official image from the film, and he's now made good on his word!
The Instagram pic provides our first look at Holland fully suited-up as intrepid adventurer Nathan Drake. Previous spy photos only showed the actor in a tux, but here we see him donning an outfit very similar to the one his character wore in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
Holland's casting was not met with an overly ecstatic response from Uncharted fans, but he is playing a much younger take on Drake, and this first look should go some way towards assuaging concerns.

Sony's adaptation will be set before the events of the first game and serve as an origin story for the beloved character, as Drake embarks on his first globe-trotting adventure alongside mentor Sully (Mark Wahlberg).
Travis Knight, Dan Trachtenberg, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon, Neil Burger and David O. Russell were all attached to helm Uncharted at one time or another, before Venom's Ruben Fleischer was finally confirmed as director this past March.
Uncharted will also star Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. The movie is (currently) set to hit theaters on July 16, 2021.
