It's been a long road for
Kingdom Hearts 3 and an even longer one for the franchise itself, which first began all the way back in 2002 with the game's release on PlayStation 2. In January, the epic adventure 15-plus years in the making will reach its conclusion in what is shaping up to be the biggest entry in the series yet.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will see our trio of heroes - Sora, Goofy, and Donald - travel to new and familiar worlds based on Disney's beloved franchises. They'll party with iconic Disney characters as they fight the Heartless in the ultimate battle between light and dark.
A ton of work has gone into
Kingdom Hearts 3, which was first announced five years ago. Given its lengthy development cycle, it's understandable why game director Tetsuya Nomura would want to celebrate the game's going gold.
The trailer below highlights the many different worlds featured in
Kingdom Hearts 3, including
Frozen, Big Hero 6, Toy Story,
Tangled,
Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more.
KINGDOM HEARTS III takes players on the adventure of a lifetime through a vast array of worlds. From Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Big Hero 6 and Frozen to Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., each world brings with it magical moments, unique gameplay experiences and classic characters new and old. As the ultimate battle for light and life comes to an epic conclusion, Sora, with the help of his loyal companions Donald and Goofy, will team up with iconic Disney and Pixar characters in an attempt to defeat the darkness and save the universe.
The adventure concludes when
Kingdom Hearts 3 releases January 29, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One.
