VIDEO GAMES: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Has Hit Retailers

Will 12 new fighters, new stages, new game modes, and an extended cinematic trailer be enough to get gamers excited for an "Ultimate" version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 hit retailers today for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The fighting series adds 12 new legends to the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 line-up, bringing the total overall roster of characters to 50. The new fighters include zombie-slayer Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Vergil, Nemesis, Strider and Firebrand from Capcom and cosmic defender Rocket Raccoon, Nova, Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider and Hawkeye from Marvel.



Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 also includes enhancements and features to improve the game's balance and online functionality. One of the biggest additions to the game is the fan-requested "Spectator Mode", which allows fighters to watch live online matches together.

The game is rated "T for Teen" by the ESRB and is now available for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Getting this game day 1. Too bad the superhero movies don't make set pieces like these for their climax. All the final battles have been disappointing. Way too short, boring cinematography, emotionless, and no hype. (Incredible Hulk came and Batman came closest).

Only one I can think off is Hulk and Haggar who gots their nips exposed.

Capcom will probably have an updated version of this soon, so I'm just gonna wait for SUPER ULTIMATE MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3: ARCADE EDITION to come out. :-).

They need even more characters than this for me to want it. They need Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, Leon Kennedy, A Licker (resident evil), The Punisher, all of the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and various other Capcom and Marvel characters that I couldn't think of.

Sounded like Inception there for a bit and was unnecessarily long. And enough of these games already...they're fun, but just make the game we all want to have. You know what i'm talking about.

@Jordanstine So you're actually only getting the same game for $30. That's not much better when it's something you already (probably) bought a few months ago. You're giving Capcom more reason to just take your money when they do nothing original. I could really go on but then CBM would crash again. :P

not worth it, picked regular one up and was dissapointed that the control scheme was dumbed down to a 3 year old level, i still prefer marvel vs capcom 2, over that bs game

Capcom totally [frick]ed over everyone that was loyal to the franchise and bought the first copy of the game. They promised us tons of DLC to make up for the lack on content on disc, and instead decided to sell it as a totally different game. They're on my blacklist now, I'm never going to buy a Capcom product again.

Good to know most of you are like me and freakin irritated that they released an updated version of a game less than a year since the original came out. Not only that but this crap shoulda been DLC not a freakin new game, and I woulda loved to have seen like 25 new characters or something not 12. Also...Rocket Raccoon?! Seriously?! They passed over characters like Namor, Black Bolt, The Surfer, Black Panther, Daredevil, Mandarin, Vulcan, Venom, Carnage, Thanos, Bastion, Darkhawk, Wonder Man, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Cable, Iceman, Cyclops, Psylocke, Vision (sorry I got on a roll and couldn't seem to stop). Hell I woulda even took Crystal, Medusa, Misty Knight, Black Cat, Adam Warlock and Captain Marvel over Rocket Raccoon. There is already She-Hulk, M.O.D.O.K. Leave all the other goofy characters on the capcom side thanks.

I didn't buy the first MvC3, I rented it but I'm definetvely buying this one, maybe on the weekend but I'm also dying to see a version of Marvel vs DC, that would be another dream come true !

These games look like they get old quick. Too much of the same shit. Give me a Marvel game with a Soul Caliber engine (just steal it- f(ric)k em), and throw in the entire MCU (DLC em in in good time). Reed Richards, Spider-Man, Thor Daredevil, Punisher etc. should all have signature styles that REALLY separate the characters as individuals. I'd easily pay $100 bucks for that game. Who's with me???

Ghost Rider vs dante, Jean Grey vs Wesker, Magneto vs Galactus - This is so COOOLLL!!! But they have not changed so much either. Im glad that they kept Chris Redfield and Dr doom in this (my favourites;)
