MTV sat down with Mark Millar during the South By Southwest Film Festival and he had some interesting information to share about "Wanted 2."

This from Millar...
"What they're talking about is just moving on with the story and doing it properly," he said. "Just bringing in another cool character as this world opens up with all the different fraternities out there all across the world. This could change at any moment, but the last I heard two weeks ago, was that was the plan moving forward."

People would care enough for a sequel if it was just like or close to the comic book roots, but again HOLLYWOOD just doesn't get it....

And sadly never will!

Wanted was an awesome film. Very entertaining and cool. But I must admit that I've never read the graphic novel so I can't compare it.

Bring on a sequel

How many superhero movies is Millar trying to tackle at one time? If he spreads himself too thin, I would think that will affect the quality of the finished products. Focus Millar...focus.

I never read the comic and I still thought the movie was terrible. I see no reason to follow it up with a sequel.

I wanted, no pun intended, to read the graphic novel and then the movie came out and wasnt very impressed.
I take it the Millar version was better?

JonSolo: They're not even remotely similar dude and Millar's version was about 1000x better! You should definitely pick up the graphic novel, firstly because it's a damned good read and secondly to wash the bad taste of the movie out of your mouth! :P Hell. just check out the cast I did using the link above and you'll see the HUGE differences right away!

If they do this, this will make the first one better.

As a one-shot, it was an awesome story. But as a first chapter that kicked arse to introduce itself, it will have the Spiderman effect and make it the best of the series,
even though the second one may rock too.

unfortunately, the Wanted movie isn't just a product of Hollywood. when it came out, Millar backed it 100% and said it was done the only way it could have been done...which is ridiculous.

it didnt just shit on the source material, it completely ignored the whole thing. calling the movie Wanted, and saying its based off the comic should be false advertising, lol. its THAT different.

i think its funny too, because MOST of the people that liked the movie either didn't know it was based off a comic, or haven't read the comic.

Agreed. Not about Miller being shit, but both the comic and the film were for different reasons imo.
