stupid WB, they should have made it a movie, but I'll reserve my judgement

does this definately mean that there will be no movie? I sure hope not.

@Frogman I heard a few months ago that a Wonder Woman movie is in development now. It probably won't be released for a very long time, if at all.
@exiles agreed.

The most recent article I've read within the past couple of months has both "Wonder Woman" and "The Flash" motion pictures slated for 2013.

My guess this- the TV Pilot focuses on Wonder Woman's life after she has established herself in patriarch's world already. If a Big screen movie goes through, that will probably offer fans the full Origin and how her legend began. (Hopefully including the scene where the clay statie of the baby Hippolyta molded is brought to life)

But for now, we have the TV Movie Special to celebrate her 70th anniversary with for now.

@PaulRom: Its in been in development since 2001 :P

I'm hoping the 2 DC a year comes to light.
2012 - The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel
2013 - Green Lantern 2 and The Flash
2014 - Wonder Woman and Aquaman
2015 - Man of Steel 2 and maybe Flash 2 (if Nolan changes his mind Batman 4 :P)

I can dream right?

I am not saying that the movies not going to happen but instead of wasting there time on a TV version they should focus on making a big screen version

Gay bastardization of WW characters. This sounds just like Smallville.

Blue eyes, huh? That pretty much rules out almost every ethnic actress, including Greek, latin, Italian and so on.

Can't they just find the best actress and have her wear contacts?Or just forget about her eyes?Superman has blue eyes.Neither Dean Cain, Tom Welling or Brandon Routh have blue eyes.It doesn't matter.

Are ya'll kidding? I've been a Wonder Woman fan since I was a kid wearing her plastic mask on Halloween. That's a long time, trust me, though you need not know just how old I am! But I digress. A tv show vs. a movie is absolutely perfect, especially done by WB. WW was a hit tv show in the past, female superhero movies have NOT done well these days, why subject WW to that nonsense? WB has done well with their tv shows, and yes, I am a big fan of Smallville. 10 seasons shows something, whether some like it or not. If they can do as well with WW, I'll watch it! A movie is for 2 hours, a tv show is for YEARS.

OH, and I HATED it when Brandon was wearing blue contacts in Superman Returns, so I would much appreciate it if they would just get someone with naturally blue eyes. I think it's silly to put someone ethnic in a movie or show that do not fit the character just for the sake of putting someone ethnic in there. Really foolish. This is 2011, not 1961.

Does anyone know how to get ahold of Gina Carano?

How can she not be Wonder Woman?

She already has some affiliation with NBC. I'm sure they have to have her in the back of their minds.

I want Rosario Dawson as WW, I think she would be great.

Lee@ I like your first two picks, but 0'Keefe just doesn't have the facial features I see in WW. Too crooked.

Carano would be a kick-ass WW, but I want to see some feminism with WW, even if she is athletic and that image of WW above is just too hardcore of an interpretation for my taste...as is Carano.

I completely agree. Carano should be WW. I also wouldn't mind Lucy Griffiths, Taylor Cole or Erin Cummings.

If the show is a flop, just make the damn movie already..and I still want Kate Beckinsale for it...

As long as her rogues gallery is in it and Diana flies instead of leaping I'd be pretty content.... also remember if you bind her at the wrist she's weakened I'd be in heaven. The actress must be athletic and most importantly she has to act and we need to see other heroes from DC and not some crap they always chum up for a series that's not part of canon!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 2/13/2011, 10:53 PM
Well...she kind of has a Joker chin in that profile shot. There's just something about her that is slightly off for me in many of her images as far as her facial features. I guess I could handle her for a TV series.

i wish it will be better than smallville..
i think the problem to perform wonder woman in the big screen is how to entertain people with 90 minutes of woman action with some martial art and make a woman looks like a hero without make it look so boring..

it would be a complete travisty to allow this to be made, i cant believe that people are ok with this concept of a Wonder Woman.

What's funny is there are probably a lot of people wanting these roles who will forever be associated with a failure of a WW show! Whether or not it turns out to be decent viewing remains to be seen. If you follow the premise, it's an awful, insulting piece of shit to true WW fans. Is there no way we can stop this? Someone call Gloria Steinem! LOL... You don't know the dread that I'm enduring right now. I've always viewed Diana as she's portrayed in the Kingdom Come/DC Universe Online kind of stuff. This new show seems to be dropping a lot of important things leaving only her name in a greedy attempt to attract viewers. Disgusting.
cnimngrl
cnimngrl - 2/14/2011, 2:18 PM
Megan Gale is my pic also. Check out the artwork Alex Ross has done of WW, looks just like her and fits the character perfectly. I wouldn't count out the show just yet, I think WW has been on a back burner so long because people wanted to do her justice, not just get her out there. We may just yet be surprised. They haven't rushed her.

Oh and for all you out there who always want to see movies and shows "stick to the story", remember, alternate universes were created for a reason. Comic books were made to be creative, to change and grow and evolve and mutate. Not to stick to a cookie cutter image and stagnate. If they didn't, comic books would have died years ago.
Suzanne
Suzanne - 2/14/2011, 2:56 PM
A movie is only going to happen if this show is successful. Gina Carano is a MMA fighter not a actress.
davidcub
davidcub - 2/14/2011, 3:07 PM
I won't count the show out until I see it. "because people wanted to do her justice?". If anything, they are doing her an INJUSTICE by changing everything that people have loved about her for over 70 years!
"Comic books were made to be creative, to change and grow and evolve and mutate. Not to stick to a cookie cutter image and stagnate. If they didn't, comic books would have died years ago" You miss my point. That's precisely what they are doing. Taking out what makes her unique, and putting her into that stagnant, cookie cutter BS.....
