Gal Gadot Says DC Bosses Told Her She Has "Nothing To Worry About" When It Comes To WONDER WOMAN Return

Gal Gadot recently surprised us all by revealing that, as far as she knew, James Gunn and Peter Safran were planning to develop a third Wonder Woman movie, with her back in the lead role as the iconic Amazon warrior.

Since the new DCU is (or was supposedly) being developed as a full reboot, it was generally assumed that Gadot, along with Henry Cavill and the rest of the original "SnyderVerse" cast, would be replaced as their respective characters going forward.

Now, it's looking increasingly likely that Gunn intends to pick and choose which actors/characters he wants to keep on board.

During a new interview with USA Today (conducted prior to the strikes), Gadot was asked about her status as Diana after making appearances in both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, and she reiterated that Gunn and Safran are developing another film, having assured her that she's "in the best hands" when it comes to her future in the role.

"I had a meeting with (DC Studios CEOs) Peter Safran and James Gunn, and they both told me that they're going to develop a third Wonder Woman with me. They said, 'You're in the best hands, you've got nothing to worry about.' Time will tell."

A recent rumor indicated that, while Gadot will indeed be back as Diana, this movie isn't going to be Wonder Woman 3, and will actually serve as a semi-reboot.

Why bring Gadot back to play a different version of the same character? Gunn has been uncharacteristically quiet since Gal's initial comments, so we'll just have to wait and see what he has in store.

@grif - well I mean if Peacemaker, Waller, and a few others are being saved, why not her as well?
She has done a magnificent job as Diana Prince and WW. Keep her on board. She has that young look that can play the role for many years to come.

Is DC afraid of backlash when it comes to firing her or something? They had no problem dropping Cavill for a new shared universe, but they're going to keep Gal? WW84 did just as much damage to the brand as anything Cavill was a part of.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Whedon didn't pressure Cavill to do inappropriate scenes or threatened his career, he did to Gal...

This should pretty much put an end to James Gunn run at DC. This will certainly lose fans at a time most have already moved on from DC.

@Forthas - Dude, take James Gunn's di** out of your mouth for five minutes, relax your jaw, and take a breather.

You have an unatural obsession with him. We could be discussing the Harry Potter reboot, Mustard vs Mayo, or global warming, or the genocide in Darfur and you'd still find some way to include James Gunn in the discussion.

@Forthas - I 100% agree! DC needs a FULL reboot but Gunn is too busy playing office politics to see that. Any shred of the old universe being allowed to go forward will instantly draw the hate of fans whose favorites got cut. The DCU is dead before it even begins.

@DarthAlgar - Seems like you are the one hugging hard on those n*ts given how you defend him. Did he promise you a role in Peacemaker?

Gunn brand of film making is why there is this perceived comic book movie fatigue. He introduced the slapstick elements to the Marvel and other directors that wanted to mimic him wound up ruining franchise such as Taika Watiti. Now he is going to bring that same destructive style to DC all the while hiring his friends and family just so he can make diet Guardians of the Galaxy films disguised as Superman movies.

@LongMayHeReign - He is angering both sets of fans by half-stepping the so called reboot. Either full reboot or keep everyone in place
