WONDER WOMAN 1984 Poster Delivers A Gloriously Vibrant, Retro Take On Gal Gadot's Diana Prince

A new promo poster for Wonder Woman 1984 once again makes good use of the sequel's 1980s setting to deliver a retro take on Gal Gadot's Amazon warrior, and it's bound to get you excited for the film!

Wonder Woman 1984 is heading our way (at long last) this October, and Warner Bros. is likely to make use of Comic-Con@Home in order to share a fresh look at the DC Comics film.

There has, after all, only been one trailer thus far, and with Cheetah's animalistic appearance spoiled courtesy of promo art and Funko Pops, it's about time she is revealed in all her furry glory. In the meantime, a beautiful new promo poster delivers a gloriously vibrant take on Diana Prince.

The 1980s style has factored into all the film's marketing, but it's unknown how much Wonder Woman 1984 itself will take advantage of the aesthetic. You have to hope it will do a better job than X-Men: Apocalypse, as only a few hairstyles and fashion choices indicated that the film was taking place during a decade which has had a real resurgence in recent years (hello, Stranger Things).

I'm getting a vibe that this movie is not gonna do nearly as well as they would like it to. I'm sure the movie is fine (I know I'll enjoy it), but I'm just hard-pressed to see it doing particularly well.

@MosquitoFarmer

No movie will make what it would pre-covid. I don't see why this movie wouldn't have at least made as much as the first WW had it not been for the pandemic.

@regularmovieguy - Fore sure, but I think for me it's that they're still marketing it very frequently instead of staying quiet on it until closer to it's solid release. It's just making it feel more and more dragged out.

@MosquitoFarmer

TBF I haven't seen many ads for it outside of CBM. Haven't seen tv spots, haven't gotten a new trailer since the one a while ago?

Feel like it's more apparent to us because we're on a comicbookmovie site. I've barely seen any ads elsewhere.

@regularmovieguy - Dangit, I can't strictly argue against that.

Haha, and I can't argue that we haven't seen WW84 shit for god knows how long...

Feels like forever.

So apparently Wonder Woman in Portuguese is something like Mulher Maravilha. That's why it's got the hashtag MM84. (Thanks, Google.)

(And I just now notice it says that very clearly under the hashtag. Damn, I need to get my eyes checked.)

So much marketing for a film that doesn't open for another 4 months, lol

I never really cared for the New 52 suit (especially not in the animation), but now that I see sort of what it might look like in live-action in this fan-art, I'd really like to see them adapt it.
