WONDER WOMAN Star Gal Gadot Teases "Next Chapter" While Celebrating 9 Years Since Being Cast

Gal Gadot has become one of the main faces of the DCU since being cast as Diana Prince, and marking her 9-year anniversary, the Wonder Woman star seems to tease the hero's future in this world.

It's going to be a while before we learn what DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have planned for the DCU, leaving fans to wonder how much they'll combine the old with the new.

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has already strongly hinted that he might get the chance to play Lobo, and we have to believe Warner Bros. Discovery remains keen to move on from the SnyderVerse era of storytelling. Some actors will surely stick around, though, hence why there's been so much chatter surrounding future plans for Henry Cavill's Superman.

As for Batman, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to whether Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, or Robert Pattinson will be the DCU's Dark Knight. However, all signs point to Gal Gadot continuing to play Wonder Woman.

Yesterday, the actress took to social media to celebrate the fact that it's been nine years since she was first cast as Diana Prince. The Fast & Furious star being tapped to take on the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by Zack Snyder received a mixed response at the time, though she's since proven herself a great Wonder Woman.

"On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman," Gadot wrote. "I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I'm grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I'm still pinching myself to see if I will wake up."

She finished by teasing, "Can't wait to share her next chapter with you."

While there are rumours Wonder Woman will appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, we're guessing Gadot is referring to Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 3. There's obviously a slim chance she won't be part of Gunn and Safran's DCU slate, but we're guessing the threequel remains a priority for Warner Bros. even after the mixed response to Wonder Woman 1984

I’m so ready to finally hear James Gunn start to announce some of these new projects in the new DC movie universe.

9years 2 good movies and 2 bad movies as Wonder Woman. I’m hoping for a good third wonder woman movie. Can’t get worse than WW84 right??

@slickrickdesigns - 2 good movies?! What was the second one?

Continue the story in comic book form, that's good enough. WW84 was unbelievably bad

The amount of disappointment I experienced with WW84 killed any excitement I would have for a third film. Unless they plan to go with someone else other than Patty and promise to make her less goofy - I don’t see myself anticipating this.

@TheLobster - They should try to get Michelle MacLauren back.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Could you imagine if it was the other way with a man doing what she did.

The instant outrage.

She's an okay actress and WW is the only thing she got going that actually like seeing her in BUT unless that announce that she'll be fighting "Darkside's Female Furies"

I think I'm done with her and WW.

Just my thoughts!

I mean , why not just hard reboot the DC universe after Aquaman?

Just keep Pattinson and movie forward with that

Even tho I infinitely prefer Affleck in the role.

This is basically the same vague teasing of some future project that Henry Cavill's been doing, despite not having talked to James Gunn or Peter Safran at all.

Is this the new way that actors are vying for roles now? By insinuating that it's already happening? I blame The Rock for this. You can't just decide what the future of DC is.

I won't start to worry until I hear anything from James Gunn or Peter Safran confirming this.

@ObserverIO - At least Margot Robbie had the professional decorum to state how theoretical everything was and how she didn't actually know of any future plans.

Still a terrible casting choice in my opinion. Chris Pine carried both Wonder Woman films. One of the MANY bad legacies of the Snyder era that DC has been stuck with.

Patty is a wonderful person, but I really think that there should be other people on the writers room for the next film. Especially if it's set in modern day.

Can we celebrate a recast with someone who can actually act?

Nine years already? Kinda thought she would've been cast late 2014 or early 2015.

Anyway, guess it'll be atleast 10 years between her casting and her next WW movie.

I quite enjoyed Jenkins films but it’d nice to switch up the vibe.

How about someone like David Lowery (The Green Knight) to adapt Azzarellos run.
