It's going to be a while before we learn what DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have planned for the DCU, leaving fans to wonder how much they'll combine the old with the new.
Aquaman star Jason Momoa has already strongly hinted that he might get the chance to play Lobo, and we have to believe Warner Bros. Discovery remains keen to move on from the SnyderVerse era of storytelling. Some actors will surely stick around, though, hence why there's been so much chatter surrounding future plans for Henry Cavill's Superman.
As for Batman, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to whether Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, or Robert Pattinson will be the DCU's Dark Knight. However, all signs point to Gal Gadot continuing to play Wonder Woman.
Yesterday, the actress took to social media to celebrate the fact that it's been nine years since she was first cast as Diana Prince. The Fast & Furious star being tapped to take on the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by Zack Snyder received a mixed response at the time, though she's since proven herself a great Wonder Woman.
"On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman," Gadot wrote. "I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I'm grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I'm still pinching myself to see if I will wake up."
She finished by teasing, "Can't wait to share her next chapter with you."
While there are rumours Wonder Woman will appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, we're guessing Gadot is referring to Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 3. There's obviously a slim chance she won't be part of Gunn and Safran's DCU slate, but we're guessing the threequel remains a priority for Warner Bros. even after the mixed response to Wonder Woman 1984.
