WONDER WOMAN Takes Cover In A New Image; Patty Jenkins Says Some Of Her THOR Ideas Made It Into The Movie
Patty Jenkins reveals that some of the ideas she had for Marvel's Thor sequel actually found their way into Wonder Woman. We also have a new still featuring Gal Gadot as a battle-ready Diana.
As you will no doubt recall, Patty Jenkins was Marvel's first choice to helm Thor: The Dark World before departing the project due to the ol' "creative differences", but it sounds like the director carried a few of the ideas she had for The God of Thunder's sequel over to the first big-screen outing for Wonder Woman.
While being interviewed at WonderCon, Jenkins was asked if any of the plans she had for Thor made it into Wonder Woman, and admitted that they did, as she sees both characters' arcs as being quite similar.
"I mean they’re very similar in a lot of ways. It’s a lot of the same questions and a lot of the same struggles that I was interested in Thor’s story or here, although in that case it was the second movie so it would never have been as pure and as simple of an arc, so I really think it was meant to be that I ended up doing this one, which I had always wanted to do anyway. And I got to do it in a kind of bigger and purer arc rather than putting it in that other story."
In addition, we have a new still featuring Gal Gadot's Diana taking cover alongside some of her brothers in arms:
Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Lucy Davis. Directed by Patty Jenkins, the movie is set for release on June 2nd, 2017.
