Wonder Woman won Best Action Movie tonight at the 23rd Annual Critics' Choice Awards, beating strong competition from Logan, War for the Planet of The Apes, Thor: Ragnarok and Baby Driver.

In addition, star Gal Gadot was presented with the #SeeHer Award for challenging female stereotypes by director Patty Jenkins.

The big winner of the night, however, was Guillermo Del Toro's sublime The Shape of Water, which swam away with four awards including Best Picture and best director.

Unfortunately, Logan's Sir Patrick Stewart lost to Sam Rockwell for Best Supporting Actor, and The Florida Project's Brooklynn Prince was named Best Young Actor/Actress over Dafne Keen.

@auditore - baby driver was alright. I think it was more “cool” than anything... the dialogue is pretty campy and... off...

But... DAMN!!! Shape of water is definitely the right choice for best picture!!!

Wonder Woman winning seriously irks me. Literally all other nominees were better movies.
Filmmaking-wise it's by far the weakest, not only act 3, but the whole movie has problems, while the other 4 movies were good from start to finish (Thor had problems as well).

Wonder Woman won beacuse of the politics, not becasue of the actual filmmaking behind it and that's sad.

It being the first ("okay") high-profile female led superhero movie is great, but that doesn't make the movie itself great.
