WONDER WOMAN Star Chris Pine Says He Won't Be Playing A Present Day Steve Trevor In The DC Films Universe
There's been a lot of speculation that Chris Pine will play both the WW1 and present day versions of Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and beyond, but the actor has made it clear that won't be the case.
Steve Trevor's relationship to the Justice League in The New 52 has led to many fans wondering if Chris Pine might end up playing both the World War I version of the character in Wonder Woman, and his grandson in the present day somewhere down the line too. That would be a little on the nose in terms of casting, but an argument could be made that Pine will be wasted making just the one appearance.
Unfortunately, the Star Trek Beyond actor confirmed in a recent interview with The Huffington Post that he won't be playing multiple roles in the DC Films Universe by simply stating "No," when they asked him if that would be the case. So, that's that then, but it's still a little disappointing to hear.
Regardless, Pine went on to say this about his role in Wonder Woman. "It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot. It was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action. The part kind of asked for a little bit of all of it, so it was a good time. I think what’s really fun and exciting about it … different about it, actually, is that there’s a nice love story at the center of an action film, and I don’t think you see that often in these kinds of films." Comedy? That's going to make a lot of critics happy, eh?
