While the majority of the overgrowing cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past have expressed excitement about reprising and expanding their mutant roles, only a few have actually declared they’ve read the screenplay. Speaking with I Am Rogue today, James McAvoy revealed he read the script, written by Simon Kinberg, just yesterday. “It’s great. It’s really good and strong. I think fans will love it. I think people who have never seen any

of the [previous] X-Men films before are going to be really into it. I think it’s satisfying and giving people what they want, while at the same time being challenging and giving them something different, new, and unexpected.”

“Yeah, I can’t wait to work with Michael again, Jennifer and Nick. It’s going to be great, we got along so well the first time around. That’ll be fun. Then also, getting to team up with Sir Patrick. I don’t know if I get to work with Sir Ian, but it should be a real exciting time I think.”

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days of Future Past will unite Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing & Booboo Stewart. Scheduled to film in Montreal soon, the “inbetweenquel” releases July 18, 2014!

I trust James. If he says its great, I believe it. He's not the type of actor to praise what is wrong or to be a "yes man" for the studios, including Fox.

This gives me more confidence in the movie.

“Different, New & Unexpected”

Aren't we expecting the existing X-MEN cast in this new and different X-MEN? Not that I hate the cast, I'm just sayin.

I NEVER take these inside-camp promotions seriously unless there's something unique about what's being said and who's saying it. If I had a role in the last "Conan" film, I'd be selling it with hyperbole as well.

McAvoy has done nothing to not make this true, the man stars in mostly quality so this is a great sign.

Saying he's excited to work with Sir Patrick Stewart but he doesn't know if he'll have a chance to collaborate with SIr Ian McKellen might be him indirectly stating that both incarnations of Professor X have screen-time together.

@MrMartinMarvel: It's because we have nothing else X-Men related to look forward to. It's like they've backed us into a corner. It's either watch these sub-par adaptations, or just keep reading our comics and pray one day we get an adaptation worthy of the comics. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. All we can do is pray to the comic Gods they get it this time. (However, by what has been shown to us by Fox in the past only leaves one to still be weary of this franchise.)

I love how people can hate a movie because of the company that is producing it. (Please note, I have made a sarcastic statement.)

I hated the leather costumes. I hated the way Cyclops was abused for no good reason.

I think this movie will be incredible. They've seen what works (i.e. Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, Cap...) This will be good.

I went from zero interest I this to pretty darn interested. I know there were many fans of XM:FC and although I didn't hate it, I was far from in love with it. This film though has my interest and I'm more than willing to give it a shot.

I'm sorry, but the minute Singer got involved I lost hope...I enjoyed first class more than all of singers version...I hope he doesn't bring that cheesy crap into the first class world

I'd like to hear what some of the people from the first 3 movies have to say about the script. Im looking forward to this movie, but Im not excited about it and I still don't have any faith in it..
MitchConner
MitchConner - 3/17/2013, 7:45 PM
I just think that the less of the original cast, the better...why can't we have two different stories? The original x men line and first class? I don't like bringing them together, at least not with singer...I was afraid the minute he signed on he'd go in a different direction and bring back the old cast to finish his story, and not the story of this new cast I love...I'm afraid all the great actors in first class will get the shaft on their opportunity to shine...boo singer, let the old cast move on to something else already!

Says he gets to team up with Patrick Stewart. Guess this confirms we will see the two Xaviers meet on screen after all, despite his initial thoughts on the matter before reading the script.

This type of news really ought to be banned from this site. Who really expects someone on the payroll to say something other than:

"It's a really great script, I'm so excited about it!"

Seriously people, this type of stuff is a waste of space. Articles like this should only appear if they reveal new information; leave this type of crap to the actor's Twitter feed.

@marvel72 see THAT'S the reason I'm just not trusting FOX yet. Yea, FC did good but it's going to take more than ONE movie to change my mind. Excluding The Punisher 89(I don't consider that a FOX movie) only 1/3 of their movies have been good!

i hope they do something more dramatic or flashy to display Prof. X's powers...it got really old really fast just watching McAvoy touch his temple as the universal sigh that he was telepathic.
