Is Oscar Isaac Up For A Role In The Batman?
File this firmly in the rumor category for now, but Geeks Worldwide is reporting that Oscar Isaac (Star Wars, Ex Machina, X-Men: Apocalypse) has met with Warner Bros. about potentially appearing in Matt Reeves' Batman movie, although they're not sure which character he might be in line to play.
Though no offer has been made, Isaac is said to be "very interested in being part of the movie."
Assuming this is on the level, which Batman character would you most like to see Isaac portray on the big screen?
Is This Why Danny Boyle Really Stepped Away From Bond?
Another rumor here, this time from British tabloid The Sun - though it's worth noting that they have shared accurate James Bond news in the past.
According to them, Danny Boyle actually parted ways with the project because Daniel Craig and producer Barbara Broccoli wanted to kill off 007!
“There were discussions about killing off Bond in dramatic fashion at the end,” an insider said. “It would also leave it open for a twist in the next instalment — either Bond hadn’t died or there could be a Doctor Who-esque regeneration with a new actor.”
We're very skeptical about this one. What do you guys make of the rumor?
Ethan Hawke Is Not A Big Fan Of Superhero Movies
Ethan Hawke has come under fire from the fan community for his rather silly comments about superhero movies, and James Mangold's Logan in particular.
The Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets actor certainly seemed to suggest that he doesn't believe CBMs should be taken as seriously as certain other types of films during an interview with The Film Stage.
"Now we have the problem that they tell us Logan is a great movie. Well, it’s a great superhero movie. It still involves people in tights with metal coming out of their hands. It’s not Bresson. It’s not Bergman. But they talk about it like it is. I went to see Logan cause everyone was like, “This is a great movie” and I was like, “Really? No, this is a fine superhero movie.” There’s a difference but big business doesn’t think there’s a difference. Big business wants you to think that this is a great film because they wanna make money off of it."
Hawke is obviously entitled to his opinion, but it might be easier to take his comments more seriously if he hadn't quoted John Cassavetes and said "there’s no such thing as high art and low art, there’s good movies and bad movies” a couple of paragraphs earlier.
