Rose Byrne Talks X-MEN: APOCALYPSE; Teases A New Look For 'Moira MacTaggert'

Reprising her role from X-Men: First Class, Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) is set to return as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse. When we last saw her, her memory had been wiped by Charles Xavier in order to protect his school, and she was nowhere to be seen in X-Men: Days of Future Past as a result. In the video below, the actress talks about how the '80s era setting will impact Moira's appearance, and goes so far as to say that Professor X is going to end up looking "like he’s in Spandau Ballet." Sounds like this film is gonna be a lot of fun. I actually like how the xmen films play with the time periods

Yeah, X-Men as a period piece is a great idea.
Rose (great name ;) is one or the best actresses out there, I really hope she has a bigger role!

good to have her back but i'm getting kinda tired of X-Men movie franchise. I'm looking forward for the the last Wolverine solo entry. I really liked where Mangold, Jackman and Bomback & Frank took the character. Of course final act was a mess. (Weird. I thought Christopher McQuarrie was involved too but he is not credited) Let the old characters go, focus on the new one. Or just make X4 already. I'm interested what Marvel would do with this franchise now. Glad to know Colossus will be Russian this time around (Deadpool) not some American Footbal Player. Also, change that weird Terminator effect. And stop throwing some characters for 2 minutes onscreen time. This is getting kinda silly. Give them some dialogue. Some backstory.

i still don't know if this movie is or leads to X4 ( i doubt it is X4). New timeline ressurected some characters but the story of AP will be about younger C,J,S and Nightcrawler & Angel. The timeline is rather convoluted.

I'm not even sure they mentioned he is Russian in X2 or other movies. He's just a guy who can transform. See .. that's the problem. 2 movies and no backstory. Probably untill Deadpool. Also there is a problem with some of the characters they are bringing back for AP. Jubilee in the 80's ? She was like 20 years old in X1. WTF ? Nightcrawler/Angel returned because timeline was changed ... I'm not sure it's a good idea. Maybe they should replace those 3 with character like Longshot and give him some screen time ... I'm sure you get the point. Throwing some fan favourites characters for 2 minutes and not giving them any time to shine despite action scenes is not a good way to go. I know there are many characters but still.

@jerryblake yeah i agree the timeline is a mess; I remember right around First Class's release Laura Donner was saying that x4 leads into x5 which I think would be Wolverine and DOFP even though Wolverine is lol "technically" a standalone. But the end of DOFP certainly leaves more to be desired but with JAckman's last turn being in 2017 Who knows?

@MyNameIsKahn By killing off a lot of the characters from First Class. And by destroying the school and Brotherhood off-camera before the movie begins so that DOFP can reset them up.

First Class is up there as one of my fav cbm's not the best but imo, so dont go hating. I kinda wanna see Matt Vaughn with another x-men film, i wanna see what he got.....
