Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto and Svetlana Khodchenkova, The Wolverine is set to hit theatres on July 26, 2013.

I don't really know why everyone bashes the first flick...

Yes I know it had way too many issues and shit but it's a pretty cool action flick which I have seen a hell of a lot worse of...

My only disappointment with this flick so far is the most unattractive asian girls they have in it when the ideal actor for at least one role was Maggie Q...

'japanese noir' fills me with hope, I wasnt a huge fan of the previous X-men movies (Singers style just aint my bag, Rattners terrible) and the Wolverine film was abysmal ( if they'd turned the Wolvie n Sabretooth stab their way through the civil war, 1st world war, 2nd world war, vietnam it couldve been excellent) 1st class took a big leap in the right direction although it was no where near great, too many characters, I dont think Vaughn got enough freedom, seemed rushed etc. However Mcavoy, Fassbender, Flemyng, Hoult, Lawrence, Platt combined with Vaughns obvious talent lifted it above the previous mutant films.

If Mangold comes good with the 'JAPANESE NOIR' description Jackman n Fox's dedication to the character couldve been worth while all along, then get rid of Singer for good and give him the next Xmen film.

Christ I hope he pulls this off.

There could be a crossover at some point with Spidey and Xmutants as well as the Avengers Cinematic Universe, Just if you think it couldn't and wouldn't, just remember there was an agreement between Disney and WB to have Bugs and Mickey in Who Framed Roger Rabbit!
