In 2000 The X-Men Franchise became one of the first comic book movies to hit it big at the box office and started what by now seems like a revoloution of comics to the silver screen, The man behind the camera was Bryan Singer. The success of the first movie would lead to a sequel in 2003 with Singer again directing. Then when it came time for a third movie Singer dropped out and went on to direct Superman Returns.

After the fans got a piece of X-Men: The Last Stand most were begging for Singer to return. Then we had the prequel X-Men: First Class, which was going to see Singer return as dirctor. Then schedule conflicts forced Singer to take a smaller role as a producer with the original X-Men: The Last Stand, Matthew Vaughn taking the helm.

In a set report for X-Men: First Class by LA TIMES a paragraph stated that Bryan Singer was looking for a return as the dirctor for another X-Men movie:

Now he’s returning as a producer for this “X-Men” installment and still hopes to direct another X-movie in the near future. He praised Vaughn’s vision and attention to detail and said the problems the production is now facing are merely intriguing challenges that will be overcome.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 3, 2011 directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Bilner

i don't really care if he returns. people have to understand that the script is more important. if singer had directed origins or X3 with the given scripts, they would still suck (as most of you say, because i really like these films).

No. plain and simple. if he says hes such an xmen fan than y is he not sticking to the story. y only show the costumes for a little while in his movie. he just needs to, after this movie, go do something else and let fox's xmen die. GIVE THE RIGHTS BACK TO MARVEL!

a way to do an X4 is bring the phoenix back to life and with her powers resurrect cyclops. but most of the cast is over 40, so, i think X4 with the same actors is out of the question. it would have to be a new team or different actors. so, better reboot the whole thing after first class, which i think it will be a good movie, but a horrible adaptation and it will be the lowest grossing of all X-films...

@jazzman
I watched all 3 X-Men films the other day &
1. Xaviers conciousness was placed inside a guy with no conciousness' head(so he lives on)
2. Magneto got his powers back right at the end of #3
3. Cyclops didn't die onscreen, they only found his glassas, which means they could explain how he survived.

In actual fact the only main characters who definately died were Mystique(who could get her powers back like Eric did) & Jean Grey I think.
So they could carry it on with X-Men 4 really.
Is there anything else that anyone would like to add 'cos I probably missed some stuff

@01carterg

Mystique didn't die, she temporarily lost her powers as same for rouge, the cure was only temporary. So they can continue with it (straight out of the comic books)

Bryan singer is an asshole and shouldn't ever direct another superhero movie ever again, :)

It's my understanding that Singer has signed on to direct X-4 once First Class is complete (unless wikipedia is lying). I'd rather they not do an X4 until around 2013 (Hugh Jackman will be in Japan for The Wolverine, so if they decided to film this year, they might have to recast Wolverine for X4 [which is unlikely]).

Well Singer has already proven he couldn't make a Superman film if his useless life depended on it. He nearly destroyed Superman for a promising new generation. He can stay with xmen. That jackass needs to keep away from anything DC

well the character became human & at that point she ceased to be Mystique.
Sorry, I made a mistake

--=d{-_-}b=--

But I was just spitballing, IMO I don't think they should make another X-Men 'cos the whole thing is a continuity nightmare.
The rights should go back to Marvel but I think for that to happen Fox would have to stop making X-Men films for a good few years(I'm not sure how long, but it's prob a long time)

i knew it would get to this point with any movie thats been bad and has all these sequals, i will admit. i am TIRED of X MEN thats right, as long as thier with FOX and Singer there just gonna SUCK. Give them back to marvel already!

It would be awesome if they would make the timeline saga and go back to fix x-men 3, This is the only franchise that can actually fix that crappy movie. Make it where they have to save Cyclopes life, and by doing so they change X-men 3 completely.

Give me X-Men 4!

Although X-men 3 sucked x-men 2 and the First X-men we pretty good considering they didn't have costumes!

But the Age of Apocalypse should be a great way to repoot the franchise without a full reboot same cast Alternate Marvel universe! YES!

Bring on Cable! Add a Mask To Wolverine and BLAME! A Hit!
