In the following video interview with MTV News, Hugh Jackman drops some very interesting hints about the next Wolverine movie, and it definitely sounds like it will take place in a timeline we haven't seen before (presumably the one from the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past). He also reveals just how much the comic books will be influencing the sequel and what it is which makes a team-up between Logan and Charles Xavier so potentially exciting. The Chappie star also weighs in once again about Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what he thinks it would take for the X-Men to follow. Check it out below and share your thoughts in the usual place!

If nothing else, this Spider-Man deal shows that anything is possible. New precedents will be made.

Marvel would re-cast Wolverine. Which would be stupid.

Speaking of cameos in the Spider-Man movies, I'm still baffled that Thomas Jane's Punisher stunt double cameod at the end of Spider-Man 2 right after the Mary Jane wedding scene.

And trust me (or don't), Fox isn't rebooting their entire X-Men cast and continuity after the massive success of DOFP just to join the MCU. It won't happen until after The Wolverine and Fantastic Four 2 at the earliest.

I feel like after Infinity War, the only thing they could do to top all comic books will be MARVEL VS DC. That would be the be all end all of the cbm genre. And how fortunate are we that it will never happen! at least not in the next 20 years

I still say the scenes in Captain America where the Howling Commandos were fighting, it would have been awesome for Cap to have looked over after a fight scene and said "Thanks Logan".

Fox and marvel should just do a Hulk vs Wolverine movie!

Eh,it isn't going to happen. The Inhumans are filling in anyway. I'd rather see Marvel get the Fantastic Four and their villains back.

We were lucky that Spider-man is joining the MCU. But as for the X-men.

Forgive me if I completely offend any Xmen or just general Marvel fans but, I never saw the mutants meshing well with the rest of the Marvel comic universe. Don't get me wrong, I like the Xmen. But I think they themselves work perfectly stand alone in their own universe. I personally never got why mutants got so much more public disapproval over any of the other given avengers. But hey that's me, anyone willing to correct me is free to I guess lol

@Jollem plus the xmen had a kickass cartoon so there is that haha. If they manage to bring a fraction of that Apocalypse I think we're in good hands

@Jollem no I mean if the movie Apocalypse is anything like the 90s cartoon Apocalypse then I'm satisfied. And really I'm not going to complain about the suits, even if they were just simply black.

Jollem

In the 90s, the X-Men were awesome! Not so much now.

As great as the X-Men movies are, they don't do the characters justice. We've had 5 X-Men movies so far, and they only ever focus on Wolverine, Xavier, Erik, and Mystique. There's a reason why Jackman prefers interacting with the MCU characters than the ones in the Fox-Verse.

In relation to another column. Huge Iackman is just an Actor, yes he wishes across over with the MCU would happen, but so does any comic book fan. He is not the decision maker for the studio.
